Make up Forever is an Indian based cosmetic company. You are the HR manager working in the firm.

HR Manager you have identified Rashmika, an experienced Sales Manager. She has been successfully
managing the Sales Department for the past 15 years and she is the best person available within the
company to be sent to Saudi Arabia. But Rashmika is quite reluctant to relocate to Saudi Arabia.
Being an independent and outgoing woman, she firmly believes that she will not be able to handle
the restrictions for women in the Saudi culture.
The Committee of World Health Organization (WHO) wants to send a medical consulting team to
Syria to inspect the medical condition of the people over there and perform medical check-ups. The

Roshan is graphic designer working for ARC media creative works. He is young and extremely
talented. He likes to have freedom and he feels that this would bring the best out of him .ARC media
has given Roshan the benefits of Flexi time and work from home. Recently ARC media acquired a
project, where they are supposed to collaborate with Japanese company Vega Media. ARC was keen
on sending Roshan, their best graphic designer to Japan. But in Japan the work environment is quite
different where the aspects like working with a team and following regular office timings are of
utmost importance. Roshan is reluctant to relocate to Japan as he felt that he will not be able to
work to his full potential without the work flexibilities. You are the HR manager of ARC media.
Mahatma Gandhi University is an Educational Institute with its main campus located in Dubai. The
institute is planning to open a new campus in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. MGU wants to relocate its best
VC in order to take up the responsibilities of setting up the new campus at Gandhinagar. The
institute wanted Dr. Ramanujam (VC – MGU Dubai) to relocate to Gandhinagar campus from Dubai
campus with a promotion (MD). But he and his family were reluctant to take the transfer with
obvious reason of difference in the cities. (for example, Facilities, education, development, exposure

This case is based upon a news broadcasting Television Company based in London. Mr. Shannon is
working as television reporter in Fox news for the past 28 years. Mr. Shannon was asked to go
Kashmir to cover the news in the wake of recent terrorist attack. Mr. Shannon is an excellent
reporter with an experience of covering various kinds of news. Nevertheless, he was reluctant to go
to Kashmir. It is very important for the news channel to cover this news because it was facing stiff
competition from the rival news channels who already has sent their teams to cover this news. You
are the HR manager of this firm.
Kaira is pilot working for fly high airlines in India. She is the senior commander and most experienced
pilot with more than 10,000 hours of flying experience. Fly high has recently been acquired by
Citilink, an Indonesian based airline. Since Kaira is the most experienced pilot the company wants
her to relocate to Indonesia for two years and help the newly inducted commercial pilots and so that
they can gain from her experience. Kaira doesn’t want to leave her son and daughter in India while
she relocates to Indonesia. At the same time, she realizes that the education system in Indonesia is

based in India and has been doing extraordinarily well in the recent times. The CEO of the company
Sreenivas Kumar Ranjan has decided open branches globally with the growing demand for
consultancy services. As a pilot project, he wanted to open a new branch in Portugal. The following
are the characteristics of Rashmika Singh and Tej Mangalam. You are supposed to select any one of

This case is based on Danish enterprise. It is relatively a new enterprise and does not follow any type
of cross-cultural strategies. The enterprise recently signed an MOU with a Russian company. Miss.
Buttler is an experienced graphic designer with excellent project management skills. She is the best
employee available for your organization to send onsite to work on this joint venture with Russian
Company. But Miss. Buttler is quite reluctant to relocate to Russia as she felt she is too straight
forward and focused on revenues rather than group goals, which is not the case in Russian culture.
She also felt that her straightforward nature might hurt other employees from Russian Culture who
generally are emotional. She is also apprehensive of the major cultural differences between the two
nations.

13.SECURITY CONCERNS IN TANZANIA
Astrance is a three Michelin star restaurant in Melbourne, Australia. Due to the issue of chef
shortage in Europe, the organization has decided to relocate the Executive Chef of Astrance,
Mr.Pascal to the newly opened branch in Paris. But chef Pascal is quite reluctant to relocate to Paris
as he feels that the younger generation of Europe is not committed to work for a longer duration. He
is hesitant to take up the entire responsibility of the restaurant in Paris with the news of many chefs
leaving the industry.
