Mind Power and How To Apply It

The document discusses how humility and pride are not actually virtues and can hinder one's ability to intentionally create their life. Humility involves having a low view of oneself while pride involves an inflated or exaggerated view. Both extremes activate the law of rhythm, which causes pendulum swings between the two states. The ideal is to have a modest view of oneself that is moderate and balanced. The document advises guarding against humility and pride and transforming them into modesty in order to avoid the pendulum swings of the law of rhythm.

The Essence of Mind Power

"We do not have to wait for future discoveries in connection with the
powers of the human mind for evidence that the mind is the greatest
force known to mankind. We know, now, that any idea, aim or
purpose that is fixed in the mind and held there with a will to achieve
or attain its physical or material equivalent, puts into motion powers
that cannot be conquered." Napoleon Hill
Humility and Pride - Two Misguided Virtues
By Tania Kotsos

Contrary to mainstream advice, humility and

pride are two of the most misguided virtues that
human beings can aspire to possess. Society,
however, praises humility as one of the most
virtuous qualities one can display and tends to
applaud the man that humbles himself.
Similarly, while it may not be so obvious that
pride itself is praised as a virtue, we are more
often than not directed to be proud of ourselves,
of our achievements, of our appearance and,
somewhat ironically, of even our humility. The
truth though is that humility and pride are not
virtues at all, but rather, they are two extreme
states of being that, like all extremes, are best
to be avoided particularly if you want to
intentionally create your life with any measure of
success.
The Real Definition of Humility: Little
consideration is ever given to the true meaning
of humility, which partly explains why it has
been wrongly praised as such a wholesome
virtue. To find the real meaning of humility one
needs to look no further than at its definition and
etymology. The dictionary defines humility as
"the quality of having a low view of one's
importance, a lowliness of mind, or a sense of
one's own unworthiness through imperfection
and sinfulness". Synonyms for the word humble
include docile, fearful, lowly, withdrawn, poor,
base, inferior, insignificant, trivial and even
miserable. The etymology of humility is the
Latin humilitatem, which means lowness or
insignificance. Even more interesting is that the
word "humiliate" has its origin in the word
humility. Surely this begs the question, if
humility is really such a virtue, why then do we
not seek to be humiliated? The answer is
simple, humility is not a virtue.
The Real Definition of Pride: Among the
definitions of pride is "a high opinion of ones
self, an unreasonable conceit of one's own
superiority in talents, insolence or arrogance of
demeanour, and that which excites boasting".
While pride may also be defined by less
extreme states that have a positive connotation,
such as a "lofty self esteem", you will find that
most definitions include a degree of excess in
self evaluation. As is the case with all excess, it
is to be avoided. Pride is not to be confused
with personal integrity. To be in integrity is in
deed a great virtue and means to be authentic,
to be a person of your word, and to live a moral-
based life. In contrast, the exaggeration
associated with pride usually results in a lack of
integrity.
The Hidden Dangers of Humility and
Pride: Not only are humility and pride not
virtues, they are two dangerous states of being.
Aspiring to be humble and proud is often the
very reason people fail to consciously create
their life or feel that the Law of Attraction "does
not work for them". On the one hand, humility
deflates your sense of self and blinds you to
your strengths, while pride over-inflates it and
blinds you to your weaknesses. In the case of
humility, your inability to see your strengths
leaves you impotent to them, while in the case
of pride, your inability to see your weaknesses,
leaves you exposed to them. Put another way,
humility leads to an inferiority complex rooted in
a severe lack of self worth and self esteem,
while pride leads to a superiority complex that is
fuelled by the most dangerous of all attitudes,
arrogance. Similarly, being proud of others also
blinds you to their weaknesses, which in turn
fuels an over-inflated opinion of the person you
are proud of within both you and them.
The Swing of the Law of Rhythm: The Law of
Rhythm is one of the most important Hermetic
Universal Laws to understand and transcend
when consciously creating your life. This Law
states that "everything flows, out and in; all
things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing
manifests in everything; the measure of the
swing to the right is the measure of the swing to
the left; rhythm compensates." This principle
can be observed everywhere in the physical and
mental realms, from the rise and fall of the
greatest empires to the swaying of your
thoughts from being positive to negative. The
pendulum swings in everything. When anything
reaches a point of culmination then the
backward swing begins almost unnoticeably
until such time that any forward movement has
been totally reversed, then the forward
movement begins again and the process is
repeated.
The Law of Rhythm Humbles the Proud
and Makes the Humble Proud: In
accordance with the Law of Rhythm,
reaching any extreme state of pride will
activate the Law such that you attract to
yourself circumstances and experiences
that carry you to the equal and opposite
extreme state of humility. Likewise, from a
place of humility, you usually attract to
yourself those circumstances and
experiences which in time will create
within you a state of pride. One seldom
notices the turning point or connects the
dots on the way from pride to humility and
back. Nevertheless, irrespective of
whether you notice it or not, the pendulum
does swing back and forth between these
two extremes of humility and pride over
and over again. Remember that the
"measure of the swing to the right is the
measure of the swing to the left", which
means that to the degree that you are
proud so you will be humbled and vice
versa. The action of the Law of Rhythm is
neither a punishment nor a reward but
rather a compensation in search of
balance.
The Ancient Greek Warning Against
Arrogance: Three major maxims were
inscribed on the Temple of Apollo at
Delphi in Greece. You may have heard of
the first two, "know thyself"
(pronounced gnothi safton) and "nothing
in excess" (pronounced miden agan), but
the equally important third maxim is often
overlooked and even more so
misunderstood. The closest modern
translation of the third maxim is "make a
pledge and ruin is nigh" (pronounced egia
para data). This has wrongly been
interpreted as a warning against any form
of monetary pledge or guarantee and has
absolutely no relevance to the real
meaning of the maxim. In truth, the
warning is not against a monetary pledge
but rather against arrogance. In other
words, making a pledge about yourself,
i.e. arrogantly proclaiming your
indestructibility, will bring about your
destruction. The more accurate
interpretation found in older Greek texts is
that "the gods will unleash destruction on
the arrogant".
Guard Against Humility and Pride: Bear in
mind that the swing of the pendulum attributed
to the Law of Rhythm is not activated of its own
accord but rather by a shift in your mindset. It is
from a place of pride that you can become
arrogant and hence compalcent and blind to
your weaknesses. Similarly, it is from a place of
humility that you can become detached to the
point that you allow good to come to you
because you resist nothing. Having said this, it
is faith not humility that is the ideal route of least
resistance to effortless detachment.
Detachment through faith is empowering, while
detachment through humility is disempowering.
Nevertheless, since pride can eventually gives
rise to arrogance, you must guard against being
proud and, although not so obvious, since
humility is in time transmuted into pride, it is
equally important that you guard against
humility lest its final destination be arrogance.
Humility and Pride are at Opposite Ends of
the Same Spectrum: Humility and pride are at
opposite ends of the same spectrum called self
evaluation. This means that one cannot be both
humble and proud simultaneously because they
are two opposite states of being. In other words,
you can either be humble or proud at different
times but cannot be both at the same time, at
least not in any real sense, as the one cancels
the other out. Since you cannot be both,
aspiring to be humble and proud leaves you
with something of an inner struggle as to which
one to be, as the Law of Rhythm swings you
between the two. The answer is neither.
Transforming Humility and Pride into
Modesty: If humility and pride are two attitudes
to be avoided, the obvious question then is what
should one aspire to be? The answer is modest.
Modesty is often misinterpreted to mean
humility but the two are very distinct attitudes.
To be modest is to be moderate in your self
evaluation, free of any exaggerations that either
over-inflates (pride) or deflates (humility) your
worth. To be modest is fundamental to
consciously and intentionally creating your life,
free from the Law Rhythm's swing of the
pendulum.

Effective Mental Focus - When Not to Focus on

What You Want
By Tania Kotsos
"Place your mental focus on what you want at
the exclusion of all else". Sound familiar? You
are likely to have heard this advice a countless
number of times stated in different ways. On the
surface, this may sound like good, solid advice
about how to consciously create your reality but,
dig a little deeper, and you may find that it is the
very reason you fail to do so. This is not
because the advice itself is wrong, but rather
because the circumstances under which it is
prescribed, are unsuitable.
The secret to effective mental focus lies in
knowing how to distinguish between when to
focus on what you want and when not to; and in
the case of the latter, knowing what to focus on
instead. There is a very simple method of
mental focus that can help by-pass
existing negative beliefs and align you with the
Laws of Polarity and Attraction in such a way
that you create what you want, instead of more
of what you do not want. Before examining this
method, let us take a look at when
you should focus on what you want.
When to Focus on What You Want: Feel free
to mentally focus directly on what you want,
when it is something you do not have an already
existing negative subconscious belief about.
How can you tell? Well, if you currently have the
"opposite" of what you want in your life, then the
chances are, that you have an existing negative
belief related to what you want.
The "Magic" of Beginners Luck: Beginners
luck is little more than having no negative
beliefs associated with what you are doing for
the first time. When doing something for the first
time, a so-called beginner has absolutely no
experience or negative belief about what he or
she is doing and usually no attachment to the
outcome either. This means that there is nothing
to stand in the way of his or her efforts.
The Power of Positive Beliefs: Of course, feel
free to focus on what you want when your
related, subconscious beliefs are positive and
hence, by virtue of the Laws of Attraction and
Polarity, bring you more of what you want. For
instance, if you are fit and healthy and want to
run the marathon then you can focus on
yourself running and completing the marathon; if
you have a successful business and want to
increase sales, you can place your mental focus
on the feeling of increasing your sales; or if you
are an avid traveller and want to experience a
great travelling adventure, you can mentally
focus on your next exciting destination.
When Not to Focus on What You Want: It
stands to reason that, if you should focus on
what you want when your underlying belief
is positive; then you should not focus on what
you want when the underlying belief is negative.
The problem is, that we tend to mentally focus
on and want those things that we currently have
the "opposite" of, and this usually means that
there is a negative subconscious belief
underlying our current experience. An obvious
question then is, if you should not focus on what
you want, then what should you focus on?
Effective Mental Focus - The By-
Product Method: There is a very simple
yet powerful mental focus method that
you can use to by-pass a negative belief
when consciously creating your reality. It
is called Effective Mental Focus - The By-
Product Method. The trick is to place your
mental focus on something that is a by-
product of what you want but not
specifically what you want. In other words,
mentally focus on something that you do
not have a specific negative belief about
but, that in order to experience it, you
must also have that which you actually
want. This may sound complicated but it is
really very simple.
Think big and keep away from the
specifics. As long as your subconscious
mind does not have an existing negative
or opposite belief to contradict that by-
product image, then it will not fight or
"sabotage" your attempts. In other words,
it is a way of granting yourself beginners
luck and is even more effective when the
by-product image is based on an existing
positive belief. The by-product that you
choose to focus on should resonate with
you. The less it is related to your existing
negative belief, the better it is. Here are
some examples for illustrative purposes.
If you have a problem with trust in a
relationship, then instead of specifically
focussing on a trustworthy partner, focus on
having a loving family with your partner and
children. Focus on playing games with your
partner and children, having fun, laughing and
feeling totally confident and at peace. You can
go further and see yourself totally at ease as
you go about your day-to-day tasks and looking
forward to seeing your partner later during the
day. The only way you could experience this
scene in reality is if you trusted your partner but
you are not mentally focussing on the specifics
of a trustworthy partner. Instead you are
focussing on a by-product of having a partner
you totally trust, without having your
subconscious mind fight your attempts.
If you want to shed some extra weight, then
instead of specifically focusing on yourself being
slim, pick a physical activity that you would like
to complete and mentally focus on that instead.
For instance, place your mental focus on
completing a half-marathon. Training to run a
half-marathon of course would most likely get
you to shed that unwanted weight, without it
being your mental focus and hence, without the
back-lash of your subconscious mind. This is
because your subconscious mind is unlikely to
have a specific belief around your running a
half-marathon and will be more readily willing to
accept this image, even though it is logically
more difficult to successfully complete a half-
marathon than to simply shed some extra kilos.
If you want to improve your finances, instead
of specifically focussing on having more money,
see yourself giving it away, whether it means
placing your mental focus on donating to
different charities or giving expensive gifts to
family and friends that they really want. In order
to do this of course, you must first have money
(and probably much more of it than you need to
cover just your basics), but since your specific
mental focus is not on having money, your
subconscious mind is unlikely to fight you.
A By-Product Image Can Help Change Your
Negative Beliefs: The Law of Polarity (as
explained in part one) also applies to your
beliefs. Within each of your negative beliefs,
there is also the potential of its equivalent
positive and "opposite" belief. The great news
is, that by consistently placing your mental focus
on a by-product image without focussing on any
specific aspect of that which you actually want,
your subconscious mind will more readily and
easily allow for the transmutation of an existing
negative belief into its positive equivalent.
Basically, you keep your subconscious mind
pre-occupied with an image it has no negative
belief about, while indirectly transforming those
negative beliefs that do not match the new,
positive by-product image.

The Incredibly Important Role of Your

Conscious Mind
By Tania Kotsos
The second aspect of your consciousness is
your conscious mind. It is also known as the
objective mind or self-consciousness. It is the
mind of your five senses, enabling you to
consciously experience the physical world. Most
importantly, it is that aspect of your mind that is
able to reason. This ability to reason sets
human beings apart from the plant and mineral
kingdoms and places us highest in the animal
kingdom. Your conscious mind essentially
grants you the freedom to consciously rather
than unconsciously choose your outcomes.
The All-Important Function as Guardian of
the Subconscious: Given its capacity to
reason and discriminate, your conscious mind
has an incredibly important function. It
is supposed to be the guardian at the door of
your subconscious mind, ensuring that only
wanted and empowering messages are allowed
through. It is supposed to be the sole
commander of your subconscious mind as it is
only through the conscious mind that you can
access the subconscious. The words supposed
to be have been stressed intentionally since
most people have no idea about this incredible
role. Instead, they experience life in a zombie-
like state, allowing messages from the media,
society, school, friends, family and even those
they deem their "enemies" to pass through to
their subconscious mind unchecked,
irrespective of their nature.
Charles Haanel explains it this way
in The Master Key System: "The
subconscious mind does not engage in
the process of proving. It relies upon the
conscious mind to guard it from mistaken
impressions. When the "watchman" is "off
guard," or when its calm judgment is
suspended, under a variety of
circumstances, then the subconscious
mind is unguarded and left open to
suggestion from all sources."
Who is Running Your Show?: Unbeknown to
most people their life is being run in strict
accordance with a set of deeply ingrained
subconscious programmes that they did not
consciously choose in the first instance. To
make matters worse, it is argued that most of
these programmes were locked in place by the
age of around ten. This is because a child's
ability to reason is limited compared to that of
an adult. This may enable a child to absorb new
information with great superiority, but it also
means that a child's subconscious mind, being
more easily programmed, is left wide open to
unchecked negative messages.
Consciously Reprogramme Your
Subconscious: By the time a child has reached
its early teenage years, its reasoning abilities
have significantly developed and so it is able to
consciously choose what messages to accept.
By then, however, core programmers are
already in place and the subconscious mind
doesn't want to know any different even if it has
unwittingly taken error to mean truth. The
simplest way to consciously override these
negative programmers is by learning to access
your All-Knowing higher self.
The Power of Your Subconscious Mind and its
Achilles Heel
By Tania Kotsos

There are essentially three aspects to

consciousness, specifically the subconscious
mind, the conscious mind and higher
consciousness. Each plays a pivotal role in
creating your circumstances so understanding
how the three are inter-related is fundamental to
truly harnessing the power of your mind. Being
familiar with what is meant by consciousness
will go a long way in enabling you to consciously
create the reality of your choice. Consciousness
is the very foundation of the most powerful
resource you have at your disposal - your mind.
It is the most familiar and yet most mysterious
aspect of your life. Without it you could not
experience life. With it, you are eternal.
Anatomy of the Subconscious Mind: The
subconscious is the incredibly powerful
programme that runs every aspect of your life
automatically and without any need for your
conscious input. Simply put, any thought,
message or order that is given to the
subconscious often enough and convincingly
enough will in time be accepted as truth and
consistently be carried out with exact precision
irrespective of whether it benefits you or not.
The most important thing you must know is that
it is subjective in nature. This means that it can
not reason or distinguish between positive and
negative.
In The Power of Your Subconscious Mind,
Joseph Murphy explains that "when thoughts
are conveyed to your subconscious mind,
impressions are made in the brain cells. As
soon as your subconscious accepts any idea, it
proceeds to put it into effect immediately... it
draws on the infinite power, energy and wisdom
within you. It lines up all the laws of nature to
get its way. Sometimes it seems to bring about
an immediate solution to your difficulties, but at
other times it may take days, weeks, or longer...
Its ways are past finding out."
The subconscious mind's inability to reason
is not a weakness. In fact it is fundamental to
its power. To illustrate this, imagine if your
subconscious had to decide whether or not your
heart should pump blood around your body,
whether or not to immediately send white blood
cells to heal a wound, whether or not to walk
each time you consciously wanted to walk.
The subconscious mind's subjective nature is
responsible for every function you carry out
automatically without conscious thought, from
digesting the food you eat to healing a wound to
speaking a language to driving your car -
ultimately all your habitual actions. It is the
storehouse of your memory. It never sleeps any
more than your heart sleeps. Were it able to
reason, your body would be unable to function
and life as we know it could not exist.
Its power is also its Achilles
heel because its lack of reasoning ability
means that it is equally willing to carry out
negative programmers as it is positive,
with often devastating effect. The true
potential of the subconscious mind may
be limitless but potential alone is more
detrimental than useful when the
programmers carried out are negative.
Having said this, given its inability to judge
right from wrong, it can not be held
responsible for the negative programmers
it relentlessly carries out. Who then is
responsible?
Thought Power - Your Thoughts Create Your
Reality
By Tania Kotsos
Thought power is the key to creating your
reality. Everything you perceive in the physical
world has its origin in the invisible, inner world of
your thoughts and beliefs. To become the
master of your destiny, you must learn to control
the nature of your dominant, habitual thoughts.
By doing so, you will be able to attract into your
life that which you intend to have and
experience as you come to know the Truth that
your thoughts create your reality.
For Every Outside Effect There is an Inner
Cause: Every effect you see in your outside or
physical world has a specific cause which has
its origin in your inner or mental world. This is
the essence of thought power. Put another way,
the conditions and circumstances of your life are
as a result of your collective thoughts and
beliefs. James Allen said it best when he said
"circumstances do not make a man, they reveal
him". Every aspect of your life, from the state of
your finances to the state of your health and
your relationships, is accurately revealing your
thoughts and your beliefs.
It's an Inside Job: Most people have it back to
front, believing that they feel or think a certain
way because of their circumstances, not
knowing the truth that it is their thought power
that is creating those very circumstances,
whether wanted or unwanted. By internalizing
and applying this Truth, that your thoughts
create your reality, you will grant yourself the
power to create the changes you want to see
manifest in your life. Reality creation is an inside
job.
Your Thought Power is Limitless: There is a
single, intelligent Consciousness that pervades
the entire Universe, which is all powerful, all
knowing, all creative and present everywhere at
the same time - the Universal Mind. Your mind
is part of this One Universal Mind and since
your thoughts are a product of your mind, it
follows that your thought power too is limitless.
Once you truly understand that your mind is one
with the Single Source of All Power and that this
power is within you, you will have found the only
true source of infinite power for which nothing is
impossible and impossible is nothing. Know that
thought power comes from within. Accessing the
source of All Power starts by looking inwards.
Your Thoughts are Alive: The greatest mystics
and teachers that have walked the Earth have
told us that everything is energy. This has now
been undeniably confirmed by modern science.
Your thoughts too are energy. William Walker
Atkinson told us that "where mind is static
energy, thought is dynamic energy - two phases
of the same thing" and Charles Haanel went on
to say that "thought power is the vibratory force
formed by converting static mind into dynamic
mind". Your thoughts are alive. Each time you
entertain a specific thought, you emit a very
specific, corresponding frequency or energy
vibration.
What Frequency Are You On: The basic
premise of the Law of Attraction is that like
energy attracts like energy. You attract to
yourself those things and circumstances that
are in vibrational harmony with your dominant
frequency, which is itself determined by your
dominant mental attitude, habitual thoughts and
beliefs. Mike Dooley, one of the presenters of
the movie The Secret, fittingly suggests that if
you want to know what a thought looks like, just
look around you. Keep in mind these three
words "thoughts are things".
Not All Thoughts Are Created
Equal: The attractive power of any
particular thought is determined by how
often you have that thought and by the
strength of the feelings or emotions
associated with it. The more energy you
give to a particular thought, the greater its
power to attract its corresponding
circumstance into your physical world
through the Law of Attraction. Your one-
off, passing thoughts do not have the
same creative power as your habitual
thoughts and beliefs. Remember, that it is
of little use to entertain positive thoughts
for just a short burst of time each day if
you then proceed to think negative or
unwanted thoughts for the rest of the day.
A negative thought cancels the benefit of
a positive thought and vice versa. Since
your reality is the sum total of all your
thoughts there are many factors
influencing your life. This makes it difficult
to directly join the dots between the cause
(thought) and the effect (circumstance)
but the causation is always there.
Use Thought Power to Change Your Life: It is
your subconscious mind that is the storehouse
of your deep-seated beliefs and programmes.
To change your circumstances and attract to
yourself that which you choose, you must learn
to programme and re-programme your
subconscious mind. The most effective and
practical way to do so, is to learn the simple
process of creative visualization. It is the
technique underlying reality creation, making
use of thought power to consciously imagine,
create and attract that which you choose.
Your imagination is the engine of your thoughts.
It converts your thought power into mental
images, which are in turn manifested in the
physical realm.
Become Aware of Your Thoughts But
Not Obsessed: It is important that you
learn to be aware of your habitual
thoughts and to appropriately adjust them
so as to maintain an overall positive
mental attitude. However, be careful not to
become obsessed with every thought that
enters your mind as this would be equally
counter-productive, if not more so, than
not being aware of them at all. Remember
that to obsess over your negative,
unwanted thoughts, is to give them power
and as the saying goes, what you resist
persists. So instead of resisting any of
your negative thoughts, simply learn to
effortlessly cancel them by replacing them
as they arise.
Instantly Replace Unwanted
Thoughts: To instantly neutralize the
power of a negative thought, calmly and
deliberately replace it with its opposite,
positive equivalent. For instance, if you
think to yourself "I'm not good enough, I
will never succeed", mentally replace that
thought with "I am good enough and
success comes to me easily". You can
also use the "cancel, cancel" technique
made famous by the Silva Method. Each
time you catch yourself thinking an
unwanted thought, mentally tell yourself
and the Universe "cancel, cancel" and
immediately follow it up with a positive
statement.
Tame Your Dominant Thoughts and Your
Random Thoughts Will Follow Suit: It is
estimated that the average person has between
12,000 and 70,000 thoughts a day. This is
evidence enough to suggest that your goal
should not be to control every thought. It is your
dominant thoughts and beliefs that you must
learn to bring under your conscious control as
they are what largely determine your mental
attitude. As you do, you will find your random
thoughts themselves becoming more positive
and more deliberate.
The following words of Siddhartha Gautama
Buddha perfectly capture the essence of
thought power:
"All that we are is the result of what we have
thought. The mind is everything. What we think
we become."

You are One With the Universal Mind

By Tania Kotsos
There is a single, intelligent Consciousness that
pervades the entire Universe - the Universal
Mind. It is all knowing, all powerful, all creative
and always present. As it is present everywhere
at the same time, it follows that it must also be
present in you - that it is you. Your mind is part
of the one Universal Mind. This is not simply a
philosophical ideal passed down to us through
the ages. It is an exact scientific truth. Know it,
believe it, apply it and you will see your life
transform in miraculous ways.
Albert Einstein told us that "everything is
energy"; that "a human being is a part of the
whole called by us [the] Universe". His words
echoed the most ancient of spiritual and
philosophical teachings and still underpin
today's cutting-edge scientific discoveries. The
Universal Mind goes by many names. In the
scientific world we know of the Unified Field, in
spiritual philosophy we refer to The All or
Universal Consciousness and in religion we call
upon God who Himself goes by many names -
Jehovah, Allah and Brahman to mention but a
few. The name is relevant only in so far as it
resonates with you.
Whichever way you cut it, you come to
this one unavoidable conclusion: there is
but One Consciousness of which your
consciousness must be a part and "a
part", as Charles Haanel said, "must be
the same in kind and quality as the whole,
the only difference being one of degree".
The nature of the Universal Mind is
Omniscience (all knowing), Omnipotence (all
powerful), Omnificence (all creative) and
Omnipresence (always present). Know that this
too is your nature. You have access to all
knowledge, known and unknown; you have
access to an infinite power for which nothing is
impossible; you have access to the limitless
creativity of the One Creator. All these attributes
are present within you at all times in their
potential form.
It is up to you to know and act upon your own
nature. The inscription on the Ancient Greek
Temple of Apollo at Delphi left no room for
misunderstanding: "Know thyself and thou shalt
know all the mysteries of the gods and the
universe". It is through the power of your
subconscious mind and your higher self that you
can learn to align yourself with the
Omnipotence, Omniscience and Omnificence of
the Universal Mind at all times.
Each and every one of us is a manifestation of
this single Universal Consciousness. There is
profound truth in the ancient teaching that we
are all One. We are all connected - not only to
each other but to all of Nature and to everything
in the Universe. This is the Law of One. What
you do to others, you do to yourself. The way
you treat Nature, you in fact treat yourself. The
separateness you "see" is an illusion of the
personality ego. The true nature of reality is
non-dualistic, meaning that while things may
appear distinct, they are not separate.
You are able to create your ideal reality
because you are already connected to
everything you want. Nothing and no one
is separate from you. You can experience
happiness, true love, perfect health,
abundance, wealth and anything else you
intend. All you have to do is bring yourself
into vibrational harmony with the nature of
that which you want to experience through
the creative power of your thoughts. To
become the master of your destiny, you
must master your thoughts.
In a nutshell, there is a single
Consciousness, the Universal Mind,
which pervades the entire Universe. It
is all knowing, all powerful, all creative
and always present everywhere at the
same time. Your consciousness is part
of it - it is It. All is One. You are
connected to everything and every
one. You are already connected what
you want. To the degree that you truly
comprehend and internalise this Truth,
you will be able to become the master
of your mind and the director of your
life.
Brain Waves and the Deeper States of
Consciousness
By Tania Kotsos

Every part of your body vibrates to its own

rhythm. Your brain has a unique set of brain
waves. In neuroscience, there are five distinct
brain wave frequencies, namely Beta, Alpha,
Theta, Delta and the lesser known Gamma.
Learning mind control at the deeper states of
consciousness opens you up to the world of
your subconscious mind where you can create
your reality at will and with exact precision.
Each frequency, measured in cycles per second
(Hz), has its own set of characteristics
representing a specific level of brain activity and
hence a unique state of consciousness.
Beta (12-30Hz): Beta brain waves are
associated with normal waking consciousness
and a heightened state of alertness, logic and
critical reasoning. As you go about your daily
activities you are at Beta. Although important for
effectively functioning in everyday life, higher
Beta levels translate into stress, anxiety and
restlessness. With the majority of adults
primarily operating at Beta during their waking
hours it is little wonder that stress is today's
most common health problem. The voice of
Beta is the little nagging chatterbox of your inner
critic, which becomes louder and more
relentless the higher you go in the range.
Alpha (7.5-12Hz): Alpha brain waves are
present in deep relaxation with the eyes usually
closed and while day-dreaming. The relaxed
detached awareness achieved during light
meditation is characteristic of Alpha and is
optimal for programming your mind for success.
Alpha heightens your imagination, visualization,
memory, learning and concentration. It lies at
the base of your conscious awareness and is
the gateway to your subconscious mind. The
renowned Silva Method by Jose Silva is
premised on the power of Alpha. The voice of
Alpha is your intuition, which becomes clearer
and more profound the closer you get to 7.5Hz.
Theta (4-7.5Hz): Theta brain waves are present
during deep meditation and light sleep, including
the REM dream state. Theta is the realm of your
subconscious mind. It is also known as the
twilight state as it is normally only momentarily
experienced as you drift off to sleep (from
Alpha) and arise from deep sleep (from Delta). A
sense of deep spiritual connection and oneness
with the Universe can be experienced at Theta.
Vivid visualizations, great inspiration, profound
creativity, exceptional insight as well as your
mind's most deep-seated programs are all at
Theta. The voice of Theta is silence.
Delta (0.5-4Hz): The Delta frequency is the
slowest and is present in deep, dreamless sleep
and in very deep, transcendental meditation
where awareness is completely detached. Delta
is the realm of your unconscious mind. It is the
gateway to the Universal mind and the collective
unconscious whereby information received is
otherwise unavailable at the conscious level.
Delta is associated with deep healing and
regeneration, underlining the importance of
deep sleep to the healing process.
The following chart shows the EEG
(Electroencephalography) graphs of the four
major levels of brain activity.
The Alpha-Theta border, from 7 to 8Hz,
is the optimal range for visualization, mind
programming and using the creative
power of your mind. It is the mental state
at which you consciously create your
reality. At this frequency of mind control
you are conscious of your surroundings
but your body is in deep relaxation. To
learn how to access this level of mind at
will you must first learn how to relax.
Gamma (30-100Hz): The most recently
discovered range is Gamma which is the fastest
in frequency at above 40Hz (some researchers
do not distinguish Beta from Gamma waves).
Although little is known about this state of mind,
initial research shows Gamma waves are
associated with bursts of insight and high-level
information processing.
In a nutshell, there are five major brain
wave ranges: Beta (12-30Hz) is present
in normal waking consciousness and
is heightened during times of stress;
the Alpha brain wave (7.5-14Hz) in deep
relaxation; Theta (4-7.5Hz) in
meditation and light sleep; and the
slowest, Delta (0.5-4Hz) in deep
dreamless sleep and transcendental
meditation. The less recognised
Gamma is fastest (above 40Hz) and
associated with sudden insight. The
optimal level for visualization is the
Alpha-Theta Border at 7-8Hz. It is the
gateway to your subconscious mind.
