My Language Learning Biography
Curiosity was the main reason why I decided to learn English. The more I want to know
new things, the more I encouraged myself to start this journey.
As my mother had had some English classes in an institute when she was young, she
used to sing English songs and I was fascinated with the way that she could move her
tongue. I did not have idea about what she said but It was not relevant for me until I was
eight and I had my first English classes in the school. At the beginning I found it quite
difficult to learn a new language. I felt I was not able to do it because there were a lot of
new words. Part of me was sure that It was going to be hard to speak but I was so curious
that I asked my parents to go to an institute.
I attended first and second level in the same institute in Morón; however, I decided to
change for one which was nearer my house in Ituzaingo. I did Cambridge exams which
were very useful to analyse my development. Once in high school I kept practicing my
skills for the First Certificate Exam. I had considered being an English teacher since I was
a child so for me it was so important to keep learning all the time. I passed my FCE with B.
Due to the fact that some friends had decided to be translators, I started the same career
as them but I did not feel comfortable at all. In my first chance, I came back to my real goal
in the University of Hurlingham.
To sum up, I truly believe that learning a language is quite useful but It can be a bit
frustrating if you do not keep practicing. My piece of advice is that you must read all that
you can and be exposed to the language.
