Electroscope

This document describes an experiment using an electroscope to study electrostatic force. The electroscope is constructed using an empty bottle, paper clip, aluminum foil, and bottle lid with a hole. When a charged object is brought near the electroscope, electrons will transfer between the object and electroscope, causing the aluminum foil pieces to repel each other and spread open, visually demonstrating electrostatic repulsion.

OBJECTIVE
To study the electrostatic force
METHOD
1. Make a hole on the

ANALYSIS
When you rub your hand against an object,

electrons from your hand are transferred to

the object. That’s made the object becomes

more negative. When you move the object
