Unit Summary:

The Cold War was the policy that shaped U.S. foreign policy after WWII. There was a Communist scare from the Soviet Union during the 1950's and 1960's in
America. America felt compelled to stop the spread of Communism abroad at all costs. Foreign policy shaped domestic policy and vice versa during this time.
This unit will cover an introduction to the following events:
The Cold War
McCarthyism and blacklisting
Bay of Pigs/Cuban Missile Crisis
Atomic testing and the Mutually Assured Destruction Doctrine (MAD)
The Vietnam War (and the protest to it!)
The Space Race to Détente
Tear Down that Wall!
The End of the Cold War?
Cyberwar
