Sand Trap Louvers

General
RUSKIN sand trap louvers are specially designed to separated the sand and dust from the air. It is
effective and necessary to apply for ventilations and inlet ducts of air handling units. As the assembly
comes with complete aluminium extruded profiles unit, it is corrosion resistant and suitable for different
weather conditions.

Sand trap louvers can be supplied with filters and dampers as optional.

Construction
● Extruded aluminium profile frame with 25mm flange width and 150mm height.
● Extruded aluminium profile channles with 100mm face width and 30mm height.
● 12 x 12 x 1 mm dia G.I. wire mesh with PVC coating or powder coating as optional.
● Two set of 20mm drain holes per channel area at the bottom of the louver.
● Aluminium channels folder and riveted as filter frame - L5361/SF.
● Expanded aluminium filter media - L5361/SF.
● Volume control dampers as optional - L5361/SD.
● Louver with filter and volume control damper as signle assemply - L5361/SFD.

Description
● Frame and vertically placed channels assembly as single unit, manufactured from high quality
extruded aluminium profiles with the advantages of corrosion resistance and rigidity.
● U shape channels arranged in two rows inverted position with enough pitch to pass the air
indirectly.
● Drain holes of 20mm at a distance of 40mm per one channel area at the bottom side of the louver
to drain filtered sand and dust.
● Louver is fixed with a removable and washable extruded aluminium fitter with aluminium expanded
mesh as the fitter media.
● Louver is fixed with a opposed blade volume control damper which can be operated manually.
● Total structure is weather proofed and the louver portion with complete aluminium body will be
xposed to outside.
● At minimum face velocity up to 92% efficiency can be achieved.
Dampers and fitters
Volume control dampers and fitter are used with sand trap louver according to the requirements. Volume
control dampers are manually operated with galvanized iron sheet frame and double skinned aluminium
extruded profile blades. Removable and washable filters can be provided in different thickness as per
the requirements. These fitters are made of aluminium frames and media.
