Notes To Mavinci Sirius Pro Sample Data Sets
Please note that we only guarantee the accuracy for processing with Agisoft PhotoScan
Professional:
http://www.agisoft.ru/products/photoscan/professional/demo/
It will be free to use for a trail period if you do not own a license now.
You can review this data in MAVinci Desktop, it also supports the direct export to various processing
solutions including prefiltering. A free trail license is available here:
http://www.mavinci.de/support/licenseorder
If you are using PhotoScan without MAVinci Desktop, please use the *.psz file on our FTP. It's a PhotoScan
project, already containing all meta data from this flight. Please note that the GPS antenna offset in this
file was already corrected. Processing requires a special MAVinci PhotoScan plug in, without the given
accuracy values are not achievable. Please download it here:
ftp://mavinci.de/MAVinci_PhotoScan_Plugin.zip
Please uncompress the zip file, and load the file MAVinciInit.py in PhotoScan via the menu entry „Tools“ →
„Run Script“. It requires no arguments. After running the script, you will see an additional menu entry
called „MAVinci“. Just Choose „Processing without GCP“, and the job starts. If you are changing some
settings in the MAVinci menu (e.g. reduce the quality), the result might become less accurate. Please note:
Processing requires 32-64 GB of RAM and a strong CPU and a high end graphic card (or even two). Even
with this hardware, processing will take a couple of hours. Without this it will take a lot longer.

Other Processing solutions will probably not give good results because many of them are not
producing a real TRUE ortho image, instead they are trying to produce a nice image by using seamlines.
You can easily see this if you look at buildings: If you can see the the facades of buildings, you have no
real TRUE ortho image, independently from what the manufacture of the software is telling you. In this
case the accuracy is arbitrary, since the x and y position of the whole facade are mapped to different
pixels in the image even they should be equal.
