1. When the writer was 14 years old, they spent a weekend at their friend John's grandparents' farm. It was a great farm in the hills near a lake, with a big farmhouse and many animals and crops. 2. The weather was sunny and everything on the farm was wonderful. John's grandparents were old but nice. There were many friendly, hospitable people in the farm and village. 3. The weekend at the farm was a nice memory for the writer. They especially liked one of the black, loyal horses named Blacky. Everything was fresh on the farm.
