Step 1 - Initial Task Materials Design For Virtual Environments

This document discusses different models of learning, including traditional classroom education, technology-based learning, and blended learning. It argues that while traditional education is accepted, it may not directly relate to real-world work activities. Technology-based learning allows students more flexibility but lacks social interaction. Blended learning combines traditional and online education to facilitate teacher-student interaction. The document concludes that each learning model has strengths and weaknesses, and what is best depends on individual needs and contexts. Advances in technology have increasingly incorporated online tools to make learning spaces more comfortable.

Essay
It is important to recognize that traditional classroom education has been accepted as a teaching
model for the acquisition of knowledge, although making a deep reflection can be noted the
shortcomings that this has, taking into account the author's views, we can be inferred that there is
not direct relation of knowledge to the activities carried out at work, that is to say that what is
learned in the classroom does not have the solid bases to apply them into the work.
On the other hand, technology-based learning can be interpreted as an alternative to the traditional
model, since through this type of learning the study, it can be carried out in a more practical way
since, through the computer, the student accommodates himself to his schedule and their study
pace, and other advantages of technology-based learning are the time of travel and the expenses
they incur when the students attend a classroom.
Likewise, there are weaknesses regarding technology-based learning, as Wenger describes this
model as "incapable of providing effective social transactions for students". There is not social
interaction as presented in the traditional classroom where the student acquires knowledge, by
means of discussions or exchange of ideas and socialization in class.
On the other hand blended learning environment, it’s favorable environment where the conditions
are given in the traditional classroom, since the teacher provides the essential tools where the
teacher acquaints the student with the resources, tools and mechanisms provided for the acquisition
of knowledge, this interaction allows students to learn socially where traditional education and the
use of technology are combined to facilitate interaction between teachers and students.
It is important to emphasize the importance of multimedia environments in the teaching and
learning of foreign languages as it can improve learning in any field of education and provide the
student with the opportunity to follow his pace without delaying the progress of others.
The web has additional tools that allow the student to reinforce their knowledge, among them are:
audio, images and videos that they can be selected at random and many sites to explore with
audiovisual supports so that the student acquires a good understanding and facilitate access to
knowledge Of foreign language. With the advancement of technology, through the internet you can
have a real-time and synchronized communication, for distance education, which it makes have a
continuous contact in the learning process.
Therefore, taking into account the three forms of learning it is clear that each of them has strengths
and weaknesses regarding the way of imparting knowledge, the important thing of all this is to
recognize that people learn differently, since each one of the forms of learning has relevance when
it comes to acquiring knowledge, it is subject to the response of the people needs.
However, the ecology of learning can be defined as an adaptive environment where it provides
tools and mechanisms that adapt to new contexts within learning, and students can receive
instruction through methods and models that best fit their needs, Interests and personal
environments.
On the other hand, the author defines eLearning as an "enabling technology that supports the
interactions of students with the resources contained in the learning ecology” from the above, it
can be inferred that through these models, the student is facilitated access to all the formative
contents for its learning.
it can be concluded that the advances that have been achieved through technology as a means for
literacy, it has had great importance since over time, it has been able to incorporate this mechanism
the area of learning, making the spaces more comfortable and each time improving the pedagogical
designs, for teaching and learning in virtual spaces using technology as an essential tool.
