5 Governor

The document discusses governors that are used to regulate fuel injection in engines. It describes two main types of governors - RSV governors that are small and lightweight, and RSUV governors that are suitable for large engines with large load variations. It provides details on governor construction, operating principles for different engine states like starting, idling, and load conditions, and identifies codes used for different governor types.

GOVERNOR

GOVERNOR

¾ Function:
- Regulate the fuel injection according Rpm and loads.

¾ Classification
- RSV, Small sized, lightweight. Most extensively used, featuring easy starting and easy variant of the
rotational speed range and regulation.
- RSUV, Suitable for large-sized engines, which have a large variation in load. This type has a speed
increasing gear aided by the flyweight and is excellent in accuracy of control. Therefore, this
governor is used in the PES-PS Type injection pump.
