HIRING DEPARTMENT PROFESIONALS,

I am asking to be reviewed for employment as a special agent in the Department of


Homeland Security. I will be graduating with a bachelor’s in applied science with a
concentrated study in organizational leadership. I have worked before with the
Department of Defense as a United States Marine in the Global War on Terror resulting
in intimate knowledge of security protocols, and reactionary skills that would make me
suitable for this position.

Within my time spent in the United States Marine Corps. I have had the opportunity to
learn about key functions within the United States Government. I have worked before
with members of the Department of Homeland Security while on missions and training
during my time of active service. I currently hold a classification of top-secret, am
qualified with all small arms that can be found within an Infantry unit, to include pistols,
carbines, designated marksmanship rifles, and breaching tools. I also have been certified
with communications equipment found within the United States Government to include
military grade radios, satellite phones, encryption equipment and digital ways of
communication such as emails, and applications. While on active duty I was able to gain
knowledge on how to find information relevant to ongoing investigations in highly
stressful situations.
In envision becoming part of a government agency in which my tactical experience can
become an asset to those already in this field. With my knowledge of multiple different
countries tactics on counter terrorism, and disablement operations I can be an asset as I
can help to organize and to effect change in an individual or team approach while also
learning new approaches to difficult situations found within fieldwork.
Skills learned while pursuing my bachelor’s degree can be useful in that I am competent
with multiple types of technology to include general word processing applications,
PowerPoint, Google applications, Website design, coding, Image processing and
manipulation. This allows me to switch between physical aspects and technical aspects
of this job seamlessly.
I am committed to the security of the nation and her people and would value the
opportunity to be able to serve within the Department of Homeland Security as a special
