Design of Stairs

The document provides details on designing stairs, including steps, stair beams, connections, and beams at half floor levels. Steps are designed as z-sections from checkered plate. Stair beams are usually channels with dimensions chosen to satisfy bending moment, shear, and deflection checks. Connections between steps and beams use butt welds designed for tension. Beams at half floors are typically I-sections with reactions from the stair beam and floor loads considered in design. Examples are provided to demonstrate the full design process.
