Audiences

TOYS“R”US kids: From infants to

adolescents, and from toddlers to
teenagers, TOYS“R”US kids will always
be our primary audience. And keeping
them ecstatic, entertained and engaged
will always be the reasons we come
to work every day. Because we under-
stand kids as well as we know toys.
Every visit to one of our stores is a spe-
cial occasion, even if it doesn’t coincide
with a birthday or holiday. Above all
else, we love to spread joy and bring a
twinkle to every child’s eye.
Kids at Heart: Some of our best
guests are TOYS“R”US kids who don’t
want to grow up. While some of them
have kids and grandkids of their own,
others don’t. Either way, Kids at Heart
tend to be collectors and connoisseurs
of toys, particularly the classic brands
like Barbie and Hot Wheels, plus newer
trends such as action figures.
Parents: The parents of TOYS“R”US
kids are very important, because
ultimately, they have the final say on
what toys and games their kids can
buy and play. That’s why it’s crucial to
keep parents aware of new toys and
trendy items. When parents are up on
what their kids want, they’re more likely
to approve of the purchase. Parents
appreciate safety, quality, value and
selection. That’s why they shop at
TOYS“R”US
Grandparents: Although Grandparents
of TOYS“R”US kids make fewer pur-
chases than Parents, they are an
important target because they’re more
likely to splurge on presents when it
comes to birthdays, holidays or other
special occasions. While it’s important
to keep Grandparents aware of new
toys and trends, it’s equally important
to reinforce the classic brands they
already know and love from their own
childhoods.

Geoffrey the giraffe has been the TOYS“R”US mascot

and Ambassador of Fun since 1960. Geoffrey loves to
make sneak appearances in TOYS“R”US TV commer-
cials; get featured in ads, circulars and signage; and be
recognized by TOYS“R”US Kids around the world.

Recently, Geoffrey received a makeover befitting his

status as the “Face of Fun” and the “It Giraffe.” This
section will cover all of his cosmetic updates so you’ll
be able to consistently present Geoffrey in his best light.

Corner Bleeds

The size and shape of the

substrate will determine the
proportioning and positioning
of the Star Cluster.

For Corner Bleeds, a subtle

amount of stars is usually
appropriate, so use only one
corner of a Star Cluster. To
create layouts with more stars,
Full Bleed options are available
(Section 5.4.g).

The Star Cluster can bleed off a corner of a layout.

Any of the Star Cluster formats and orientations may
be used. Refer to the examples shown here for the
recommended proportion and positioning.

The Star Cluster can bleed off the

top or bottom of a layout as shown.

When creating an Edge Bleed, use only the top ¼

or the bottom ¼ of a Star Cluster as shown here.
