A. Preparatory Activities:
1. Tell whether the event or action is real or fantasy.

3. Motivation:

B. Presentation:
1. Today were going to read a selection about squid’s ink. Let’ find out how the saying “Necessity is the mother
invention,” can be proven. Teacher distributes copy of the selection and pupils read it silently.

“Squid’s Ink, Anyone?”


Necessity is truly the mother of invention. That
holds true for Manuel Tagabago, an 18-year old
drafting student in Marinduque.
One night, in the middle of a drawing task, he
ran out of ink. It was late at night and his house was
seven kilometers away from the nearest place where
he could buy ink.
An hour later, his father arrived with a catch of
squid. Manuel volunteered to clean the squid. He
collected the ink in a receptacle.
To get rid of the bad smell, Manuel blended the
ink with vinegar and alcohol. Waterproof black ink
from squid was finally made after further
experimentation with squid’s ink.
Manuel submitted his invention in the Science
Club competition, where it was chosen as the best
entry.

D. Practice Exercises:
1. Guided Exercises: (Group practice)
a. Contest writing (the pupil) statements of facts and opinions. Group the pupils, each group is given a
long pad paper to wrote facts and opinions within 5-minute time. The first group to finish is the
winner.

b. Copy statements of facts and opinions written in a chart or on the blackboard. The group with the
most correct answer is the winner.

2. Individual Practice:
A. Write F for statements of facts and O for opinions.

Luneta is a big park in Manila where most people in the crowded city go for relaxation. It is called
now Rizal Park which named after Dr. Jose Rizal, our national hero. Every Sunday, there is a free concert at
the park . Everyday many people go there for its fresh air and wide space to stroll on.

V. Assignment:
Give as many adjectives as you can to describe each of the following nouns.

A. Panimulang Gawain

1. Pagsasanay – Magkaroon ng pahulaan tungkol sa mga gulay.


Halimbawa: Lamang-ugat ako’y kulay puti, sa sinigang masarap akong sangkap, ano ako?
2. Balik –aral – Pagbalik-aralan ang mga pangkat ng pagkain.

B. Panlinang na Gawain

1. Pagganyak – Pagbabahaginan ng karanasan sa pagtatanim ng mga halamang gulay ng bawat mag-aaral.


2. Talasalitaan

3. Pagbuo ng Suliranin – Anu-ano ang mga uri ng gulay? Anu-ano ang kahalagahan ng pagtatanim ng iba’t

4.1 Ipabasa ang nilalaman sa dahoon 106-107 ng Batayang Aklat tungkol sa kahalagahan ng pagtatanim
ng iba’t –ibang uri ng gulay. Hayaang ilahad ng mga mag-aaral ang sariling palagay tungkol dito.
Pag-usapan din ang iba’t ibang uri ng gulay at hingan ng halimbawa ang bawat mag-aaral.

C. Pangwakas ng Gawain

1. Paglalahat – May iba’t ibang uri ng gulay na maaaring itanim na makapagdudulot ng maraming
kapakinabangan sa mag-anak at pamayanan.

2. Pagpapahalaga
Isulat kung tama o mali.
1. Ang paggugulayan ay isang gawaing kapakipakinabang
2. Ang paggugulayan ay makatutugon sa sustansiyang pangangailangan ng mag-anak.

usapan ang pagkakatugma sa talakayan nila sa naunang halimbawa ng pagkakatugma sa talakayan nila
sa naunang halimbawa ng mga tela at ng sa ngayon.

koton – matibay
brocade – nakaumbok ang disenyo

4.2 Hatiin ang klase sa dalawang pangkat at bigyan ng takdang-paksa o gawain ang bawat isa. Pagsalik-
sikin ang mga bata at ipaulat sa harap ng klase ang nasaliksik.

Pangkat 2 – mga uri ng tela.

4.3 Ipabasa ang pahina 239-240 ng Batayang Aklat ang tungkol sa mga kagamitan sa pananahi, mga uri ng
tela, at ang katangian ng mga ito. Ganyakin ang mga batang magtanong tungkol sa nabasa

C. Pangwakas na Gawain
1. Paglalahat – Ang kasiyahang naidudulot ng pananahi sa kamay ay makakamtan sa paggamit ng tamang
kagamitan at tela.

2. Pagpapahalaga
Pagtambalin ang uri ng tela sa hanay A at ang katangian nito sa hanay B.
