Student Interview Questionnaire for Australia

1. Why Australia?

• I want to study in Australia because first of all Australia is

the third best student destination after USA and UK. The
education system of Australia is worldwide recognized and is one
of the best and being one of the progressive nations of the world,
Australia provides top quality education to its students. For mba
program Australian universities do not ask for competitive exams
like GRE or GMAT but the University of America do ask for such
type of exams compulsorily and also I have compared the
Average annual living expenses of Australia with other country
like UK and USA. For aus it is AUD 19830 per year and is
affordable for the students like us from developing nation, while
annual cost of living in UK and USA is higher because of pound
and US dollar rate. It seems quite impossible to stay in USA and
UK and study because of high living expenses. Australia provides
PSW opportunities which other country like US and UK does not
provide and by gaining this practical experience and international
degree as well it will help me to win a career back here in my
own country.

2. Why this college or MIT?

• I choose this college because first of all MIT is Located at the

center of the city. MIT has the excellent faculty, flexible course
structure, good amenities and most importantly a friendly
atmosphere for international students. MIT provides mentorship
programs to its students. If Student needed any help they are
assisted by experienced seniors throughout the year and they
also provide Industry-aggregated programs in which they
manage industry guest speakers and lecturers from renowned
university to conduct seminars throughout the year. The other
reasons is MIT have small class size and I feel that in smaller
classes I can learn better and also if we make cost comparison
with other institutions like UTS and UWS , this college has
provided more affordable tuition fee to its students which is
21,400 aus dollar per year. So, because of these reasons I would
like to study at MIT.

3. Why fed university?

• I wish to study in federation university becauseFederation

university is third oldest education provider in Australia which
was initially established as school of mines in 1870’s and later on
in 1994 it got recognition as University of ballarat and in 2014
this university merged with gippsland campus of monash
university to form federation university . The courses which are
offered by federation university are accredited by Australian
professional bodies like ICAA(institute of chartered accountant in
Australia) and ACS (Australian computer society). Fed uni has
been rated 5 star for its teaching quality five years in a rowby “
the good universities guide” from 2010 to 2014 and also it has
been rated 4 stars for graduate satisfaction in 2013 by the good
university guide. This uni offers accessible teaching staffs with
smaller class sizes with 30-40 students as compared to other
institution like UTS AND UWS which have 80-100 students and If
needed they also provide one to one assistance directly to their
students and also in terms of tution fee, fed uni provides more
affordable tution fee than other universities like UTS and uws.
4. Career plan?

• After completing my course , I will come back to my home

country and pursue my career in th field of management as an
management consultant in reputed multinational company like
standard chartered bank or NCELL telecommunication. I want to
contribute my knowledge and experience in the field of
management.

5. Why not Nepal?

• It is because in Nepal there are few good universities and to

get admission in those universities are very difficult due to
limited number of seats and these universities also generally ask
for higher percentage inorder to study at their university.the
education system of Nepal is old fashioned and they generally
follow traditional education concept. They are not updated with
the current courses. The education system mainly focuses on the
theoretical approach and less preference is given to practical
approach of the study. By studying over there it will help me to
gain international exposure through which I can learn many
things which will help me in my further career and nowadays in
Nepal more preference is given to international degree.
