PHOTOSHOP: Blog Header

Below are the steps to edit images or photos to create the blog header using Photoshop.

1. Open Photoshop.

2. Click File > New.

3. Rename the tab as background. Then, click Preset > Custom.


4. Reset the Width=1200 pixel, Height=240 pixel, Resolution=72 pixel, Color Mode=RGB Color
(8bit).

5. Click Ok. White background layer created.


6. To insert image, click File > Open > Look in > from your selected folder.

7. Select your image.


8. Click Open.

9. To change the size of image, click Image > Image Size.


10. Then, adjust pixel dimension according to your preferences > OK.
11. To select the image, click Rectangular Marquee Tool.

12. To copy the image, click Edit > Copy.
13. To paste image at the white background, open the background tab > Edit > Paste.
14. To reposition the image, click Move Tool.
15. To resize image at background layer, click Show Transform Control.

16. Then resize the image to your preference.


17. To adjust the brightness, go to opacity > adjust the %

18. Repeat the same step above for another image.


19. To select the image according to the specific shape, click Lasso Tool. Adjust Feather to soften
the cut edge.

20. Paste all selected image on the background layer and proceed to further editing (resize,
rearrange etc.)

21. To insert background colour > Create a new layer.


22. Click the Gradient Tool.
23. Select the Color > drag an arrow in work area.

24. To insert text > Type Tool. Then edit the setting according to your preferences.

25. The blog header background now completed.

26. To save the picture, click File > Save > Photoshop (PSD).

27. To save as blog header, click File > Save As > PNG > Save.
