product,
narrow: time period of the production process from raw materials to finished product.
The broad meaning is equal to concept of production process, while the narrow one
describes production cycle itself as described here.

Elements of production cycle

Production cycle can be divided into:

working period,
break (rest) period.
Working period
technological operations,
natural processes,
inspection operations,
maintenance operations,
transport,
storage.

Production Cycle. Production Cycle – a period during which inventories are being
turned by the company into finished goods. ... For example, the production cycle for
the windows manufacturing enterprise would be much shorter, than for the
automobile manufacturers.

How do you calculate manufacturing efficiency of a cycle?

To calculate the measurement, divide value-added production time by total cycle
time. Total cycle time is the aggregate amount of all process time, inspection time,
queue time, and move time.
How can I reduce my cycle time?
Start by studying the process
Develop a Process Map. ...
Understand the Customer's Time Bucket. ...
Study the Customer Demand Profile. ...
Study the Supply Profile. ...
Calculate current process task and cycle times. ...
Assess process capacity. ...
Identify waste that can be eliminated. ...
Reduce Customer Demand Variation.
