C. SEBAGAI KETERANGAN KALIMAT
1. Aktif participle jika menjadi keterangan kalimat dapat bermakna:
a. Setelah me..../ber..../ after; dengan pola:
Having + V 3 + C ......, S + P ...... = After S + P...., S + P
e.g. Having washed the dishes, the servant ate breakfast.
b. Karena me .../ber..../ Because; dengan pola:
Verb + ing + C ....., S + P .......... = Because/ As / Since
Being + C ............., S + P ...........
e.g. Drinking too much wine, peter got headache.
Being old, the mother has to wear glasses.
c. Ketika me.../ ber ..../ When/While; dengan pola:
Verb + ing + C ....., S + P ............. = Ketika /When? While
e.g. Sitting near the bridge, we saw the car accident
2. Past/pasif Participle jika menerangkan kalimat bermakna Karena/Because
Verb 3 + C ........., S + P .............. = Karena di../ter.../Because
e.g. Accepted at two favorite universities, Marry has a hard time deciding which
one is to choose.

Smart solution: Karena klausa pertama dan kedua subyeknya sama, maka dari
pilihan yang diberikan ambil yang subyeknya sesuai dan
hubungkan dengan frase “ing” atau “V3” di soal
