CHAPTER 1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction about team members
1.2 Introduction to Faculty Guide
1.3 Understanding about Design Thinking
1.4 Importance of Design Thinking
Activities:
After observing the process
1. Collect the plastic waste from different sources.
2. Analyze and Classify the process according to the use
3. Choosing right equipment for process.
4. Distillation of product after process.
Objects:
The main of the catalyst and system are:
1. Choose the right material
2. Cost of catalyst and reactants
3. Conditions for the atmosphere to the catalyst
Activity:
Mainly Batch type reactors are used. Condensers and distillation columns are used
after completion of transformation of plastic to oil.
Story Boarding:
-Happy Story:
Bio fuel obtained from plastic waste is quite useful in many ways. In addition, this
process is much cheaper than any other bio fuel production processes like fuel from plants.
Scarcity of petroleum can be reduced by this process.
-Sad Story:
Bio Fuel is made by this process, but it’s quality and purity is much lesser than
original petroleum. After distillation only some of the products can be obtained.
AEIOU Summary
Activity:
Selection of batch type reactor.
Arrangement of equipments according to the flow chart.
Installation of distillation column and condenser after reactor.
Environment:
It has many effects on environment. It affects the health of human being. Air pollution
is done as catalytic reaction can’t reduce the amount of CO2 produced. Water is polluted in
recycle of the catalysts and production of bio fuel.
Users:
The main personal necessary in process are process manager, raw material provider,
production manager, labors, maintenance officer and marketing officers.
Interactions:
Interaction are done with some people like workers, engineers, lab tech, etc. The
mentioned the choice of catalyst for given reactions, weight, temp., time of adding a catalyst,
etc.
CHAPTER 3. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT CANVAS
Purpose:
The main purpose to use the process are listed below:
To recycle plastic
To get over the need of petroleum
Reduce the pollution
To get biproduct of petroleum
People:
These peoples are included and are getting advantage or using the catalyst
Automobile Industry
Recycling Industry
Engineers
Components:
The main components of the catalyst or the main parameters of the catalyst are given below:
Auto clave
Vacuum Pump
Condensers
Catalytic Bed
Distillation Column
Product Experience:
Product is cheaper Than Petroleum. Efficiency is much lesser. Product is not so pure.
Product Features:
Uses waste plastic as raw material. Production process is much easy than easy. Raw
materials are easily available. Process is less time consuming.
Customer Revalidation:
The product is so much easy to use and very cheaper. It can be used in many
equipments.
People:
These peoples are included in this process are Inventors, Plant Operator, Engineers,
Technicians, labours, etc.
Activities:
Collect the raw materials
Two types of processes. (i)Pyrolytic (ii)Catalytic
Process is done in absence of oxygen.
Plastic is vaporised and then condensed to break the long atomic chanins.
Situation/Context/Location:
Equipments which are used in this process are pumps, valves, column distillation and
condensers, reactors such as BLJ-06, BLJ-10, BLL-30, BLL-40, BLL-60.
Temp. for pyrolytic process is 500-900 celsius and for catalytic, it is 350-500.
Mesotructure catalyst (MCM-41), Nanocrystalline zeolites(n-HPSM-5), AlCl3,
MgCl3.
Props/Possible Solutions:
Yield of product varies with temp. so temperature and catalyst should be in such a
way that max product is obtained. Cracking gives so many products. So, there should be
proper distillation for different products.
