I Hamlet

H is a 16-year-old teenager disappointed by the world around him. When he closes his eyes, his thoughts and imagination transform the world into a fabulous network he can shape as he wishes. Based on this, Punctart Association has designed a multimedia performance called iHamlet exploring themes of nonconformity and the conflict between generations, merging illusions and reality. The performance uses actors, text, sounds, video projections and virtual reality to build an immersive sensory experience depicting a personal version of Hamlet for today's generation.

iHamlet

iHamlet is a multimedia theatre performance depicting the subjective universe of H, a 16-

year-old teenager in today’s world, stunned and disappointed at the same time by the world
around him. Having a pretty girlfriend, annoying parents, a boring school and too much free
time, H closes his eyes and his world turns into a fabulous network of thoughts and images
which he can shape as he wishes.

Based on a new text, inspired rather by Hamlet’s character, than by the subject of
Shakespeare’s play itself, Punctart Association has designed a hi-tech theatre performance,
illustrated as an audio-visual essay that speaks about maladjustment and the refusal to
comply with reality, but also about the conflict between generations.

iHamlet is a visual essay about identity and consciousness in which illusions and reality
merge in a universe that breaks the barriers of time and space, creating a time of emotion.
This invented scenic language combines expressivity of the actors, text, sounds, video
projections, new technologies and virtual reality in building an intense sensorial experience: a
personal Hamlet, a Hamlet of and for this generation, a Hamlet of today.
