QUESTION – 1 (10 Marks)


The modern age of computers spans slightly more than 50 years (so far), this is typically broken down into five
generations. Each generation has been marked by a significant advance in technology. Discuss different
generations of computers.

QUESTION – 2 (10 Marks)


Bits transfer internally within the circuitry of the computer along electrical channels. Each channel, called a
bus, allows the various devices both inside and attached to the system unit to communicate with each other.
Discuss structure and types of buses in detail.
