1 BEFORE START
N.B points before installation
Please read with care before DVR installation. This will save precious time and energy
to learn and study important points to install and run Servntec DVR. For users who are
already used our systems, please read this again with care.
All Tech staff is consisted experienced engineers , who have more than 10 years in
DVR industry, and we all Sales and Tech team are integrated and making efforts
together to lead Market Needs and Trend, and more to make new innovative products
and services.

3) Please avoid the area where has direct rays of sun and heating to
protect systems which is very sensitive to lighting and heat.
5) Please pay attention not to get damage by tools and other devices in
the installed place.
8) Please throw vinyl pack cover in the safe place or waste bin, where
children can not touch. This vinyl can be dangerous for children to
play and use with.
9) Please keep the system away from Magnetic Matter, and place it in
the place with good ventilation.
13) When users detect some smoke or scorching stinks, please shut
down the system immediately and contact the supplier or Servntec
support Team.
2 Product Overview
2.1 System Components

3 System Overview
What is DVR(Digital Video Recorder)? DVR system transform the analog video and
voice data into <Digitalized> ones and stores on a storage device (HDD or
Others), and allows users to search by any criteria they specify, and to make
users can access the data through a network in anytime and anyplace.
※What is <RDVR>?
RDVR mean <Remote DVR>, which is commonly called RMS (Remote Management
SW). With this, users can access DVR in remote areas through Network without any
barrier of <Time and Space>. Main functions are Remote-Monitoring, Remote-Search,
and Remote-Setup and 2 Way Audio Setup.
When users install this in any PC, users can access DVRs with ID address and
ID/Password. (Please note RDVR supports Multi Connection , it is called as <Group
User>)

<ImageDB> is unique way of Servntec file system to save the data in HDD, which
has effective data array , fastest data processing system with lowest using system
resources. Moreover it has strength in protecting data safely.

To use all the function of system, users have to unlock <Key Lock> firstly. This can be
done by passing ID and Password authorization. To prevent any problems,
users(administrator) have to setup <Key Lock> function.
System Watch-Dog is not setup as default, so users have to check and run <Watch-
Dog> function in initial operation.
In initial operating, users can hear <beep> sound, which is almost caused by camera
disconnection. To stop this, please connect cameras or just double click each
camera channel.
When system shut down abnormally, <File System Analyzing> message will be shown
to check the system safety. Please note this. 다.
When some buttons are not active, which mean that system model does not support
those functions, so it is normal.

In the list, users can see all the applied log file (Main Systems Power On/Off, Video Loss,
Re-Setup values). And more users can check the log files for access log and setup change
through Network, and Notifying History, which will be very useful for monitoring all events
and system access and setup changes.
4.9 Backup
There are 3 kinds of Backup for Manual, Schedule, and AVI backup. Moreover users can
backup all data file directly just identifying the Backup Date.
※When using some Backup devices, users have to use specific S.W which is supported by
a device, in this case users have to install this S.W in the system. More users have to
format this media first(CD-R, CD-R/W, DVD) before backup

Concurrent Backup
<Concurrent Backup> is the system to backup the data at the
same time when data is saved in HDD. Briefly speaking, our
system saves the recorded data in selected HDD Drive (normally
Description in D:) as <ImageDB>, so when users use <Concurrent Backup>,
users can backup this recorded data in selected HDD drive at the
same time as <ImageDB>.

2. Search the recorded data by camera, time, and minute.
3. <Play> the searched data(by clicking <play> button in 3)
When users want to search other <Backup> data, users can search this by
just clicking <Search> button (like left Pic) and do the same procedure
(Step1~4) and monitor.
※ Users have to <install Backup Viewer Package> to see backup data in
another PC (system)
※In above case, when Date form is different in DVR PC , users have to
N.B change the date form the same as DVR PC. Please note that Backup
(Red are folder follows the PC DVR date from
most FAQs) (EX. When PC DVR date form is YMD, and another PC is DMY, users
can not play Backup files….users have to change date form YMD (it is
backup in another PC in the date form DMY)
※When the <Backup Drive> is different in <Backup PC> and <Backp Play
PC>, users have to make it as the same. And users have to <recover>
this even if <Manual Backup>.
※When users backup to <CD> in the <Easy CD Creator> installed
PC,users have to user have to install proper S/W like UDF Reader.
5 Environment Setup
The environment setup is used to configure main system operation functions like
Monitoring, Recording, Search, Backup, Sensor and Motion Detection, Relay
control and Network. Users can setup all functions based on users’ situation and
need (Operation Time, Recording time, Event Scenario).
The setup menu consists of 9 tabs. When you finish operation for each tab, click
the “Apply”
” button before moving to the next tab.
When the system detects a failure, the watch-dog function reboots the system in
specified period of time with the beep. The system is not configured with this
function in the warehouse. Check the watch-dog setup column to use this function.
If the beep is configured to work with event signals, which are different from the
watch-dog function, the beep may be generated. For your reference, the system
generates the beep when the camera signal is disconnected.
Some functions automatically reboots the system when selected. These are available
only after the system rebooted.(Change NTSC to PAL system)
Only four cameras are configured to constantly record the images in the warehouse.
Setup the schedule, and the condition to record and use cameras as required by the
field..
Click the “Apply” button after configuring each tab and click “OK” to complete the
setup process. Then, following window appears in the monitoring screen and the
screen starts to blink within approximately 5 seconds while initializing the hardware
and software

Watchdog is the function to reset and reboot the system when detecting
problems like system malfunctions and abnormal recording after Setup Mins.

According to Board, 2 TV out is supported. However using <TV out Board>, 4

occurs.(Ex, When users setup Pre/Post as 5/5, DVR records starts
recording the video from <before 5 seconds> to < after 5 seconds>
when event occurs)
Pre(Frame) : Can record the Pre Recording Data Max 5 seconds
(Pre Recording saves the 1 frame per second before Event)
Post(Frame) : Can record the Post Recording Data Max 240
seconds

Recording Setup
The “‘Enable Event” tab automatically activates when the “Normal &
Event”
recording condition is configured.
(The “Normal & Event” recording condition stores specified number of
frames (1~5) per second, automatically changes to record to the
maximum(30FPS) (continuously) when there is an event, and then
constantly saves the specified number of frames again (1~5) if there is
no event after specified period of time.)
[How to Setup]
1. No Recording: To setup not to record during the day and time period
specified
2. Continuous Record: To setup to record images normally (continuously)

during the day and time zone specified.
Schedule
3. Motion Recording: To setup to any motion detected during the day and
time zone scheduled; Images are not recorded if no motions are detected.
4. Sensor Recording: Record the sensor signals generated during the day
and time
zone specified; Images are not recorded while there are no signal
detection
5. Normal & Event : Continuously records specified number of frames per
second
(1~5 fps to setup), and then records to the maximum(30fps) for specified
period
of time while a specified events (motion, sensor)are detected.
(If Normal & Event recording condition is selected => “Before and
After
Recording Setup” must be selected)
6. Sensor & Motion : To setup to record images when a sensor signal or
motion is detected during the day and time zone specified.
[How to Setup]
1. Select a camera to be setup
2. Select <Recording Type>
3. Setup <Schedule> in <Time Table> by just <Drag & Drop>.
4. To setup several type of Recording, users can add that or change
it after changing <Recording Type>, and just do the same as
above.
※ To apply the same schedule to the entire week and 24 hours,
click the <All> button in the upper left corner of the schedule table
instead of dragging all.
Setup Network: To setup Network related values, like Port, IP adderss, and
Notification and Dynamic.
1.Network Setup 1. Use Network: Setup to open Network and allow the remote
access through it.
2. IP Setup: Setup TCP/IP .
3. Audio Port Config(X):
Port to transmit <Audio> data.(Default: 6809)
4. Data Port: Setup Data transmission Port.(Default: 6807)
5. Search Port: Setup <Search Port>, which is used in <Remote
Search> through Network. (Default: 6808). To use this, <RSEngin>
has to be in operation in both systems. (Please check Task Bar>.
※ The data transmission, two-way audio, and network notification
functions can be enabled by configuring specific ports.
※ The main reason to use individual port for each function is secure
the system by preventing other ports in Router.

NC/NO stands for Normal Close/Normal Open, which is 2 type of Sensor. NO type
normally <Open> switch changes to <Close> when signal comes and NC type
normally < Close> switch changes to <Open> when signal comes.
In electronics, a normally open switch is one that normally prevents current flow and
which allows current to flow when it is perturbed.(Cited from Wikipedia)

※Sensor, Motion, and Relay are working closely with each others. So users have to
study the scenario and configure them based on the best combination suitable for
users’ system situation.

User Setup
Single User Setup <registers or edit> Single users who can access and
operate
the System, and the network access rights
Single user is the 1:1 connection to DVR
Group User Setup <registers or edit> Group users who can access and
operate
the System and the network access rights
Group user is the N:N connection to DVRs
※Users can use this function usefully to access many DVRs
simultaneously by <RDVR> and <N-CMS> through Network.
In this case, users have to Setup Group User Account (ID) as
the same one. (예 필요)

When applying this <De-interlace> filter (S/W), users can get high-quality and
de-interlaced image for search and play.
(Interlace definition in Wikipedia: Interlaced video is composed of 2 fields that are
captured at different moments in time, interlaced video frames will exhibit motion
artifacts when both fields are combined and displayed at the same moment.)

7 Web-DVR
Web DVR is the Software which makes DVR backup and remote-monitored in Web
Browser like IE (Internet Explore) not in Taylor made Remote Client S/W (like RDVR)
just when it is connected through Network in any where and anyplace.
By using this, user can control P/T/Z, live monitoring, and save image data and
print.

※ Pictures above shows the registration procedure as <ID: Webdvr , Password: webdvr>,

-Web Server (IIS or others): Have to Web Server like IIS or Apache to register and manage
users through IE.

When users can see resisted DVRs in the list, however in the View status
some DVR are <Off>, which means DVRs are off or are not linked with
Serer. In this case, please check this with charged person.
