1 BEFORE START
N.B points before installation
Please read with care before DVR installation. This will save precious time and energy
to learn and study important points to install and run Servntec DVR. For users who are
already used our systems, please read this again with care.

And let’s start DVR …with this Manual.


What is DVR? DVR stands for DVR (Digital Video Recorder), which
transform analogue image and audio data to
(Digital Video Recorder) <Digitalized> data and records and save these data in
HDD. This High-End system cut the old VCR system’s
cost and labors, and gives all users to access saved
data by easy and simple <Digital> data system in
anywhere and anytime by Network.

Intellectual rights and properties , and Trade Mark


Neteye is the Brand of Servntec’s CCTV SYSTEM, which is protected by Law in
Korea and international markets. And illegal copies of this Manual and S/W are
prohibited by the international and Korean Law.

Check Points for installation


1) Place the systems on flat and dried place after unpacking, where has good
distance between the back of system and wall (15 cm), and note that this place has
to be good ventilation area.

2) Please avoid the place where has strong electromagnetic waves


(like Speaker and Amplifier).

3) Please avoid the area where has direct rays of sun and heating to
protect systems which is very sensitive to lighting and heat.

4) Pease avoid place where is directly open to low temperature of


outside.

5) Please pay attention not to get damage by tools and other devices in
the installed place.

6) Please avoid the place where has high vibration or temperature or


humidity.

7) Please check the power voltage before connecting power.


(The default voltage setup is 220V. So in the nations where use 110V,
please change this to 110V by switcher in the back of system)

8) Please throw vinyl pack cover in the safe place or waste bin, where
children can not touch. This vinyl can be dangerous for children to
play and use with.

N.B Points to use


1) When users pull integrated system apart by themselves, users can
not get full maintenance services and A/S from supplier. So please
contact the supplier first in malfunctions.

2) Please study the manual first before operating DVR.

3) Recommend contacting supplier or Servntec’s support team before


dismantle system or manage by users.

4) Please do not handle consent or power lines with wet hands.

5) Please connect power lines to consent correctly.

6) Please do not use thinner, Benzene, or alcoholic matter as cleaner.

7) Please keep away from the extended terminal.

8) Please shut all program and S/W before Power Off.


(When users can not shut down power, please use Power Button in
the front of system)

9) Please keep the system away from Magnetic Matter, and place it in
the place with good ventilation.

10) Please do not dismantle or maintain the system without discussion


with Expert or supplier or Servntec support Team.

11) Please do not put heavy things on the system.

12) Please do not move the system while system is running.

13) When users detect some smoke or scorching stinks, please shut
down the system immediately and contact the supplier or Servntec
support Team.

The available warranty for free change is 1 year.

3 System Overview
What is DVR(Digital Video Recorder)? DVR system transform the analog video and
voice data into <Digitalized> ones and stores on a storage device (HDD or
Others), and allows users to search by any criteria they specify, and to make
users can access the data through a network in anytime and anyplace.

This is commonly known as the DVR(Digital Video Recorder)

DVR in <Wikipedia… www.wikipedia.org >. Please read more on this.


Digital Video Recorder (DVR) (or personal video recorder (PVR)) is a device that
records video without videotape to a hard drive-based digital storage medium. The term
includes stand-alone set-top boxes and software for personal computers which enables
video capture and playback to and from disk. Some consumer electronic manufactures
have started to offer televisions with DVR hardware and software built in to the television
itself.

[CCTV System Configuration using 3 DVRs ]


1. DVR System: DVR stores digitalized video and voice data, users can access
these data simply and easily (Search/Live Monitoring/Backup).
, Sensor & Relay Control, Watch-dog(Self-Diagnostic Tool) support.
2. Authorization Server : This support fixed and dynamic IP, and make authorized Web
Account can access and manage DVR monitoring.
This server SW is supplied freely by Servntec.
( However users want to build separate server, users has to setup their own by their own
Equipment and Server SW)
3. RDVR: This supports Remote-Monitoring, Remote-Search, and Remote-Setup and 2
Way Audio Setup.

※What is <RDVR>?
RDVR mean <Remote DVR>, which is commonly called RMS (Remote Management
SW). With this, users can access DVR in remote areas through Network without any
barrier of <Time and Space>. Main functions are Remote-Monitoring, Remote-Search,
and Remote-Setup and 2 Way Audio Setup.
When users install this in any PC, users can access DVRs with ID address and
ID/Password. (Please note RDVR supports Multi Connection , it is called as <Group
User>)

3.3 DVR Running


Instruction on DVR operation: When power on, DVR starts automatically
 Our DVR runs on GUI(Graphic User Interface), users can run all functions by just
double clicking Icon(Button) on window .
 When moves the mouse cursor to each Icon, users can see each Icon’s function

 To use all the function of system, users have to unlock <Key Lock> firstly. This can be
done by passing ID and Password authorization. To prevent any problems,
users(administrator) have to setup <Key Lock> function.

3.4 Initial DVR Operation

※To secure the system, please change the default ID, Password in initial Operation.

 System Watch-Dog is not setup as default, so users have to check and run <Watch-
Dog> function in initial operation.
 In initial operating, users can hear <beep> sound, which is almost caused by camera
disconnection. To stop this, please connect cameras or just double click each
camera channel.

 When system shut down abnormally, <File System Analyzing> message will be shown
to check the system safety. Please note this. 다.
 When some buttons are not active, which mean that system model does not support
those functions, so it is normal.

Overview
This chapter gives the instruction on how to control and use functions and
buttons in DVR main Window.

4.1 Instruction on Main Window


In the main window, users can control, monitor, manage all the video data like Screen
Layout (Display Channel Split), video signal, sensor, and relay, and live audio.

The table below is the instruction of Icons(buttons) for changing screen layout(Screen

4.3 Auto-Change & Full Screen


Auto Change
It shows next channel or screen division automatically when clicking
this.
※ In 16 channel mode, it is not active. Because is shows all channels
in 16 channel screen.
※When using this with <Full Screen>, users can monitor each
channel on full screen.
Full Screen
Show one channel (camera) on full screen.
When double clicking this, previous screen will be shown.

4.5 How to use <Audio>

Audio(Sound) Button
Instruction Users can check and monitor <Live Sound>(Audio) in monitored place.
Audio Setup

Step1 Click Setup button

Enter ID/Password for <Login>.

※Default

1. Click <Resolution> Tap.


2. Select channel(camera) in “Camera Selection”

3. Select(click) Audio No connected to that channel

5. Check in the box “Live Audio ”
(Unless checked users can not hear the Live Sound(Audio) in Live
Monitoring)
6. Check in the box “Audio Save”
(Unless checked, Sound is not saved with Video)
※ Please leave Audio Volume as <Default>. After “Test”, please change
when Sound is not clear or good enough to hear.
To change <gain> value, users have to use Microphone directly in
the monitored place( gain ‘0’ means <No Compensation in Sound>)

Hear Live Sound (Audio) in Main Window


Give the instruction to get <Live Sound> with Video in Main Window

※To hear <Live Sound>, users have to setup like below

each channel
When clicking ch 1 button, it changed to

Description

This icon shows <Sensor> Status connected to DVR.


 Violet : The Status Sensor is connected

Relay Icon

Description

This shows the <Relay> status connected to DVR, and it makes users to
manage <Relay> connection (On/Off) to DVR.
 Green : <Relay> connected
Instruction  Grey : <Relay> disconnected
※ When users click these buttons, users can control On/Off.
Image Quality Control Button

Users can control the image quality control by using these buttons.

Instruction 1) Brightness Up/Down: Can control Brightness Values of Video


2) Contrast Up/Down: Can control Contrast Values of Video
3) Saturation Up/Down: Can control Saturation Values of Video
4) Hue Up/Down: Can control Hue Values of Video
※In the bottom of channel, users can see the Value of each. Users can
control the values seeing this.

When users want to apply this value to all channels, users can use this.

When users wan to change all values to <Default> values.

Video Control Buttons

Description

It shows the Camera connection/disconnection status, and camera


<usage> status.
 Blue : Normal Connection

 Grey : Do not use <Camera>

 Camera NO : Shows camera No in that channel
 Recording Status: [N]No Recording, [C] Continuous Recording,
[M]Motion Recording, [S] Sensor Recording, [C&E]Continuous & Event
Recording, [S&M] Sensor & Motion Recording
 Camera Name (Description) : Shows the Name of each channel
Instruction  PTZ Connection: When PTZ camera is connected and setup, [P] is
shown.
 Audio Connection: When <Audio> is connected, [A] is shown.
 Red Border Line : When Event is setup in each channel, it shows
<Red Border Lin> in that channel

Information Window
This shows the Data/Time information

Date/Time
[Network Connection Icon]
It show currently connected system information, when double-click, it shows
information.

Recording Data Information


Recorded Data: It show the <Oldest
Recorded Data> Time, which mean from that
Description time <Record> started until Current Time.
(Ex 2006.8.29:11:37 is the start time of Recording which is saved in HDD
until current date/time)

Setup Icon

Search Icon (where you can search and play all recorded data)

PTZ control Icon

Quick Search Icon, where you can search quickly the recorded data in Main
Window without entering to Setup Window

Description When entering this, users can setup PTZ cameras
PTZ Control(Setup Mode)

How to setup PTZ Preset


Description PTZ preset makes users setup PTZ cameras to move as setup
position for monitor the wanted place.
Preset Icon When setup, the <Yellow>(Before Clikc) flag changed to Red(Click).
※ According PTZ Receiver model, there is some model not to support
PTZ. Users have to check this first.
※TIP: Before setup, users have to check the place where needs Preset
function.

Description <Touring> Icon makes cameras move to the places for wanted monitoring.
When setup, the <Blue>(Before Clikc) flag changed to Green(Click).

<Quick Search> is made for <easy and quick> search in Main Window

same time as <ImageDB>.

It is very similar like <Direct Backup>, but the only difference is to

5 Environment Setup
The environment setup is used to configure main system operation functions like
Monitoring, Recording, Search, Backup, Sensor and Motion Detection, Relay
control and Network. Users can setup all functions based on users’ situation and
need (Operation Time, Recording time, Event Scenario).

Please note the following information.

 The setup menu consists of 9 tabs. When you finish operation for each tab, click
the “Apply”
” button before moving to the next tab.

 When the system detects a failure, the watch-dog function reboots the system in
specified period of time with the beep. The system is not configured with this
function in the warehouse. Check the watch-dog setup column to use this function.

 If the beep is configured to work with event signals, which are different from the
watch-dog function, the beep may be generated. For your reference, the system
generates the beep when the camera signal is disconnected.

 Some functions automatically reboots the system when selected. These are available
only after the system rebooted.(Change NTSC to PAL system)

 Only four cameras are configured to constantly record the images in the warehouse.
Setup the schedule, and the condition to record and use cameras as required by the
field..

 Click the “Apply” button after configuring each tab and click “OK” to complete the
setup process. Then, following window appears in the monitoring screen and the
screen starts to blink within approximately 5 seconds while initializing the hardware
and software

Schedule Recording: Setup Camera, Recording Type for Schedule Recording


1. Camera User can setup per each camera, when to apply this setup to all, , just
Selection click <Apply All> button.
Use: Check in when using.
Hide Screen: When users want to Hide <Video> of a camera on display
screen, just check in. But Recording is done if it is setup.
2. Camera Setup (It is available in the places users do not want to show the video to
ordinary users like <Safe> or confidential places)
Use Date Display: To write the date on displayed and video recorded
images.
※Event includes all cases like sensor/motion detection in Motion and
Sensor Recording.
3. Event Launch Full Screen : The display Screen turns to <Full Screen> when
Notification detects
an event.
Beep: Generates the beep when detects an event.

(For this users have to check in <Use Video Loss Beep> in <system>

Border Line: Shows the red outline(Border line) around the image when
detects an event.

Event Selection: Check in Event user wan to get Notification.
※N.B: When <Event Dwelling Seconds> is not check in, user can go

occurs.(Ex, When users setup Pre/Post as 5/5, DVR records starts
recording the video from <before 5 seconds> to < after 5 seconds>
when event occurs)
Pre(Frame) : Can record the Pre Recording Data Max 5 seconds
(Pre Recording saves the 1 frame per second before Event)
Post(Frame) : Can record the Post Recording Data Max 240
seconds

Recording Setup
The “‘Enable Event” tab automatically activates when the “Normal &
Event”
recording condition is configured.
(The “Normal & Event” recording condition stores specified number of
frames (1~5) per second, automatically changes to record to the
maximum(30FPS) (continuously) when there is an event, and then
constantly saves the specified number of frames again (1~5) if there is
no event after specified period of time.)

[How to Setup]

1. Select the date in the <Select Date>.

6. Sensor & Motion : To setup to record images when a sensor signal or
motion is detected during the day and time zone specified.

[How to Setup]
1. Select a camera to be setup
2. Select <Recording Type>
3. Setup <Schedule> in <Time Table> by just <Drag & Drop>.
4. To setup several type of Recording, users can add that or change
it after changing <Recording Type>, and just do the same as
above.
※ To apply the same schedule to the entire week and 24 hours,
click the <All> button in the upper left corner of the schedule table
instead of dragging all.

Setup Network: To setup Network related values, like Port, IP adderss, and
Notification and Dynamic.
1.Network Setup 1. Use Network: Setup to open Network and allow the remote
access through it.
2. IP Setup: Setup TCP/IP .
3. Audio Port Config(X):
Port to transmit <Audio> data.(Default: 6809)
4. Data Port: Setup Data transmission Port.(Default: 6807)
5. Search Port: Setup <Search Port>, which is used in <Remote
Search> through Network. (Default: 6808). To use this, <RSEngin>
has to be in operation in both systems. (Please check Task Bar>.
※ The data transmission, two-way audio, and network notification
functions can be enabled by configuring specific ports.
※ The main reason to use individual port for each function is secure
the system by preventing other ports in Router.

Setup <Add, Delete, Edit(?)> for Single User.
Using this, users can access and manage DVRs by 1:1, N;1, N:N.
※※Users can use this function usefully to access many DVRs
simultaneously by <RDVR> and <N-CMS> through Network. In this
case, users have to Setup Group User Account (ID) as the same
one.
<N.B> For this, users have to use same registered Group Name
in each Grouped DVRs.

de-interlaced image for search and play.
(Interlace definition in Wikipedia: Interlaced video is composed of 2 fields that are
captured at different moments in time, interlaced video frames will exhibit motion

Web DVR is the Software which makes DVR backup and remote-monitored in Web
Browser like IE (Internet Explore) not in Taylor made Remote Client S/W (like RDVR)
just when it is connected through Network in any where and anyplace.

Some sites or users want to run theirs own <Authentication Server>(Web Server) not
Servntec Server (or in some places, it is hard to access to Servntec Web Server), in this
users have to run independent Web Server. For this users can install <Authentication
Server>(Web Server), however for more details , please discuss with Sales and Tech
Support Team.

※ Needed things to setup independent Server


<Authentication Server>(Web Server): Setup Server o PC, License, Environment to make
Authentication(API is needed)

ActiveX License: Licensed ActiveX is in the environment OS in Window XP SP2 and latest
OS. (Users have to get licensed Key from MS, please refer to Microsoft Site)

Web Design and Packaging: Have to prepare Web Design and elements for Authentication
for users, when they are accessing by IE not RDVR.

-Web Server (IIS or others): Have to Web Server like IIS or Apache to register and manage
users through IE.

form users. For more instruction and details, please refer to Manual (including RDVR)

7.2 Network Setup in DVR (Server not RDVR)


This shows the instruction how to setup Network for Web Account and Authentication

7.3 How to Use Web DVR


With Web DVR , users can access , monitor live image , search and playback, and
control remote PTZ by Internet Explorer (IE) on remote PC.
PC system requirement
Check Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or more.
Points Open Pop-Up in OS window XP SP2 and more in IE.
How to open Pop-Up

To Unlock Blocking in Window XP
In XP, users have to unlock firewall in the port for Normal use.

remove <Firewall> by <Program add or delete.
1) Run <Windows Security Center> in <Control Panel>-<Window

8.4 How to use CD format tools in Backup


How to use CD format tools
To use this for format backup media (CD-R, CD-R/W, DVD), and save the
backup data in them.
※To format media, users have to <designate> format tool folder in <Select
Tool>(Refer to Backup Procedure)

them (like InCD, Direct CD) and click Open(For this, Tools have to
