However, the growing expansion of knowledge and administrative needs of empires led to the establishment of separate madrassah institutions beginning in the 9th century, with the first believed to be in Fez, Morocco.

Madrassah Education
Madrassah , Origin ,Aims And Objective :-
The word madrassah is derived from Arabic language which means a building where Islamic teaching learning takes place at graduation level. Madrasses are the Islamic learning institution that produce religious leader and scholars. They provide not only free education to all student but boarding and lodging is also free there .At present, they are globally known as centre of Islamic learning. It was the practice since the days of Prophet(PBUH) mosque served as the centuries of muslim education almost three centuries. It was during the abbasid period (750- 1258 AD) that the need for a most organized educational system. It was fert because of the rapid expansion of knowledge and to meet the administrative need of the empire. This gave birth to the madrassah, a separate institution. It is believed that the first madrassah in the muslim world was established in the ninth century in the city of fez in morocco. The syllabi of earlier madrassah include teaching of Quran and hadith with increasing emphasis on fiqh with the passage of time.
