A. Complete the sentences. Use the verbs in parenthesis. Use the present
continuous.

1) I (run) am running in the park in this moment.

2) She (talk) is talking on the telephone right now.

3) We (get= are getting hungry.

4) You (eat) are eating your favorite sandwich.

5) We (plan) are planning the vacation with all the coworkers.

6) They (play) are playing video games right now.

7) They (stop) are stopping at the coffee shop.

8) Robert and I (swim) are swimming in the pool now.

B. Make each sentence negative in the present continuous tense.

C. Explain the differences between the simple present and present continuous.
Provide examples.

The simple present tense basically refers to actions related to habits or routines. On the
other side we have the present continuous tense that refers to actions which are
happening in the moment but will finish soon.

D. Write 5 sentences about yourself using the present continuous.

1. I’m going to a restaurant tonight.


2. I’m not buying a new car this year.
3. I’m doing homework right now.
4. I’m not saving money anymore.
5. I’m craving for vacations…
