Methodology
In order to develop this assignment for Bienewabe World School, I have conducted various primary as
well as secondary researches. Initially as a primary research I met Mr. Shihabudheen the managing
director and one of the board member of BWS, and both the Principal Mrs. Zainab and Mrs. Geetha,
they provided a lot of information about the current structure and culture of organisation with various
activities they are providing for students.
As per the secondary research, I have read different text books listed in the reference, written by
respected authors of change management and some journals of HBR, BWS official websites and some
activity websites like MindTools.

Introduction
A Chinese proverb states that if you are planning for one year, grow rice. If you are planning for 20
years, grow trees. If you are planning for centuries, grow men. This assignment focuses on how
organisations undertake strategic planning and its importance in a fast changing, turbulent marketplace.
Organizations make Strategic Planning and implement new strategies like Business Level, Functional
Level and Corporate Level on their current business for their future success, expansion and competitive
advantages from their competitors. Also strategic planning is important for an organization because it
provides a direction and outlines measurable goals. Strategic planning is a tool that is useful for guiding
day-to-day decisions and also for evaluating progress and changing approaches when moving forward.
In order to make the most of strategic planning, organizations should be careful about to the strategic
objectives it outlines, and then back up these goals with realistic, thoroughly researched, assessable
benchmarks for evaluating results.

1.1 Explain the importance of external factors affecting an organisation.

The environmental analysis can be done through macro or external and micro environmental analysis.
The external environment plays an important role in shaping the future of entire organisation to keep
business ahead of the competition so that mangers have to adjust or alter their strategies to reflect in
environment in which business operate. The external environment is the one creates opportunities and
threats. We can see a lot of examples where business got affected very diversely by the impact from
external environment like Wikipedia the online encyclopedia affected the production of print editions of
Encyclopedia Britannica.

The external environment analysis can be done by PESTLE analysis which contain Political,
Economical, Social, Technological, Legal, Ecological frameworks. The updating in technology of
operating system made Nokia one of the leading mobile phone industries to collapse by giving Samsung
another mobile phone industry to grow adversely. Also Coca Cola factory in plachimada palakkad got
closed by the protest from society and political pressure. So while executing a new business project or
while going with existing business managers have to analyze their external environment to find new
opportunities and threats.

Company introduction.

Bienewabe World School

Driven by the motto to let pupil 'Learn through experiences & experiments' BWS aim to promote a
research based, practical learning system implemented through rigorous guidance. This will further
promote learners think critically, synthesize knowledge, reflect own thought-process and thus transform
the coming generations into global citizens of high values. They will be embodying as agents of those
who make common sense into common practice. BWS's Philosophy is that knowledge is the most
important thing in one's life not only beneficial for this day but the here-after as well, hence we are
motivated to push the right knowledge into them the right way so as to groom them become citizens of
the society with a global vision.

Accordingly, this particular initiative of offering an International education starting from pre-school
levels, came up as a solution to bridge the gap between the 'by-heart' method of typical education with
that of the International curriculum in UG/PG levels; as they found that their graduate students at The B

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 5

School International struggle to win the battle with the highly designed and structured global syllabus
due to their ready-made schooling background. This has been a pain for them over the years resulting an
eye opening towards an initiative to avail children's chances to experience the International syllabus
from school level, so as to equip them ready to pursue their higher studies in renowned Universities
around the globe.

BWS came to this Kottakkal through an acquisition of Al-Manar in the year 2014 which was a total
Kerala syllabus system and was having a series issue with running it. Currently BWS has about 60 staffs
working in both KG, LP and UP level with about 18 staffs in HS and HSE department level offering
Egyptian Al-Fitrah syllabus for KG students and IGCSE for LP and UP students. So by implementing
international syllabus with good standard and ethical shared values for the past three years they have
been running it successfully. They do this by executing value based education model which
continuously adds value to students from their childhood with the participation of parents, teachers and
staffs alike so as to equip them face the challenges of the competitive world. Bienewabe has become a
very good platform to experience the international syllabus from school level, so as to equip them ready
to pursue their higher studies in renowned universities around the globe. Apart from other institutions it
is driven by the motto to let pupil 'learn through experience.

The micro environmental analysis can be done inside our organisation to find our competitive advantage
through SWOT, value chain analysis, Potters five forces analysis, Ansoff analysis, BCG matrix analysis
etc and for macro analysis of industry and society BWS can use PESTLE analysis.

PESTLE Analysis of Bienewabe World School.

The macro or external environment analysis for new opportunities and threats can be done by PESTLE
analysis framework. It provides a comprehensive list of influences on the possible success or failure of
particular strategies.

 Political: It highlights the role of the state and other political forces. The state is often important as a
direct economic actor, for instance as potential customer, supplier or owner of businesses. But there are
also influences from various political movements, campaign groups or concerned media. Major Political
factors effecting Bienewabe World School are the government initiative creates the risk that the school
may fail to deliver the policy or diverted away from local priorities. The changes in the curriculum with

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 6

short lead time and improper training for teachers about the new curriculum may affect diversely.
Requirements to be self financing and self managing. In the case private school like BWS there won't be
any direct support from government which may affect them during new policy making. These are the
major political factors affecting BWS.
 Economical: It refers to macro-economic factors such as exchange rates, business cycles and differential
economic growth rates around the world. It is important for a business to understand how its markets are
affected by the prosperity of the economy as a whole. Managers should avoid over-confidence at the top
of the business cycle, and excessive caution at the bottom. In India the economic situation of is very
poor after the demonetization the consumer spending habits is comparatively low in previous years, the
digitalization make people money transaction to freeze stage. Also since Malabarians are more
depended on Middle East Countries and crisis in those countries may affect BWS in fund producing.
The high competency from neighboring school also may affect BWS.
 Social: BWS is going to get a biggest opportunity for market penetration through the development of
National Highway 17. Demographic changes may affect likely pupil rolls or the nature of pupils needs
e.g. pupils with English as a second language etc. Also a social networking site gives a very good digital
platform to improve their cognitive skills. Population in the area may affect educational institution for
intake of students since parents look for school near them.
 Technological: Technological influences refer to the influences of the internet, nano technology or the
rise of new composite materials. As in the case of the internet in retailing, new technologies open up
opportunities for some Technological factors effecting Bienewabe World School is they move from
paper based books to e-book readers which reduce need of bag with textbooks and so decrease the
weight of bag. They can also provide e-learning platform or open and distance learning for further
market penetration with more infrastructure for smart class room with Virtual Reality technology which
gives students a real time experience of learning which increase the understanding of concepts in deep
and easy way.
 Ecological: stands specifically for ‘green’ environmental issues, such as pollution, waste and climate
change. Environmental regulations can impose additional costs. By planting various plants in the school
ground may nurture the ecological system with different birds and animals with harmonically sounds
and will give students the importance of plants for future. Institution has to reduce the use of plastics at
its limit for avoiding future environmental threats and have to build same culture in students.

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 7

 Legal: embraces legislative and regulatory constraints or changes. The upcoming new legislation may
create risks of non-compliance with the law and may create new administrative burdens. Changes in
school opening hours, health and safety of organisation, changes in funding of charity based
organisation may affect BWS.

The opportunity Bienewabe World School has is they can upgrade their Kerala State syllabus to IGCSE
for 8th to 12th standard. Also, they can implement ICSE or CBSE syllabus which is better than Kerala
syllabus. By nurturing creative skill under the motto every child is different we can mould new eminent
and efficient global leaders from Malabar with ethical and cultural values. By providing proper deen and
Qur'an they all will succeed in every aspect of life, in this world and hereafter. The other major
opportunities are under this IGCSE syllabus they can bring various fancy schemes which attract both
students and teachers like international student and teacher exchange programs, panel discussions with
global leaders give a good opportunity for students to interact with various leaders, also they can make
good ambiance in school by improving infrastructure with other extracurricular learning programs like
self defense classes for girls and with active participation from various clubs. By looking forward to
upcoming developments in NH17 BWS has to improve the current system and process along with
infrastructure.
Threats of Bienewabe are the scarcity of skilled and creative teachers for taking IGCSE syllabus.
Another threat BWS going to face can be the from the recession that middle east countries facing due to
innovation in electric vehicles and the current economy which is facing tax problem like GST and
Demonization. To face future market competition they have to implement more infrastructure and
programs with more international standard. The current system with international syllabus in LP and UP
departments won't give international standard needed to compete in the market and give driving force to
implement in HS and HSE department.
Five Forces Framework of BWS.
Porter’s Five Forces Framework 9 helps identify the attractiveness of an industry in terms of five
competitive forces: (i) threat of entry, (ii) threat of substitutes, (iii) power of buyers, (iv) power of
suppliers and (v) extent of rivalry between competitors. These five forces together constitute an
industry’s ‘structure’ which is typically fairly stable. For Porter, an attractive industry structure is one
that offers good profit t potential. His essential message is that where the five forces are high, industries

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 8

are not attractive to compete in. Excessive competitive rivalry, powerful buyers and suppliers and the
threat of substitutes or new entrants will all combine to squeeze profitability.

 Threat of New Entrants (strong force).

In BWS they have been providing a differentiated service to the society where they have been good
scope but it is a red ocean with a lot of competitors with threat of new entrants (high or strong force). In
the locality of BWS there a lot of competitive school who can implement this syllabi which create a
competitive rivalry between the schools. So they have to implement certain strategy like cost leadership
with reduction in price of the admission or differentiating their current service to take more advantage
by increasing the fee. Currently there a lot of school who provides international syllabus IGCSE and Al-
Fitra syllabus throughout India, but there is little in locality of Kottakkal which give a strategic gap for
other schools and they may implement it.

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 9

 Bargaining Power of Buyers (weak force).

The Buyers of BWS is their students and parents and they are attracted to this organisation by the fact
that, it is the only school that is providing this syllabus in with low price under good leadership of
eminent personalities who have a lot of experience in international and global exposure and teaching.
This gives buyers a reason to take admission in BWS with low Bargaining power which gives a
competitive advantage from other competitors.

 Bargaining Power of Suppliers (weak force)

Bienewabe world school provides three courses during different stages of a child. For children aged 3
years to 6 year they follow Al-Fitra syllabus designed in Egypt which enables child to read Qur'an from
the beginning to the end in accordance with child friendly narration. For students of 1st standard to 7th
standard, they follow International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) which contains
a wide range of subject options that develop student's skills, creative thinking, enquiry and problem
solving. For students from 8th standard they follow State Council for Educational Research and Training
(SCERT), and Students who are passed out from SSLC are offered both +2 HSE Kerala stream
(Science, Commerce and Humanities). Extra-curricular activities and research based learning is
provided to all their children to fulfill their motto "Learn through Experiences & Experiments with self
defense classes like Karate and Yoga classes. For all this process they have great support from
University of Cambridge International Examinations, Anjuman Ta'aleeemul Quran and Kerala HSE
board. Along with this, when think about the supply of uniforms, textbooks and other infrastructure
BWS can choose a lot of distributors from the market which make weak force on bargaining power of
suppliers.

 Threat of Substitutes (weak force)

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is an English language

curriculum offered to students to prepare them for International Baccalaureate, A Level and BTEC
Level 3(which is recommended for higher-tier students) and is developed by University of Cambridge
International Examinations so that there is no Threat for substitutes in this learning programs. The
substitute for this learning process is introduction of online based teaching style which doesn't fulfill the

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 10

current strategic vision of BWS since they develop the generation having intellectual, personal,
emotional and social skills which is not possible through online based learning program.

 Competitive Rivalry (strong force)

While analyzing the current market of educational industry in the locality of BWS we can see a lot of
competition from a lot of schools and institutions who are providing a lot of syllabus and even IGCSE
syllabus. So that BWS has to provide more differentiation and cost leadership in their service to take
competitive advantage over other rivals.
As we can see from Potter's five force Analysis that the educational industry of the BWS locality has a
lot of competition so that to attain competitive advantage BWS has to differentiate their service to more
standard international level with implementation of exchange program of international students and
teachers with good cost leadership to gain good market share in this industry.
Strategic groups
Strategic Groups refers to a group of companies who follow the same strategy within a particular
industry. A company which operates in an industry can have different business segments catering to
different markets. For each of these segments, there will be a unique market characteristic, operating
environment, threats and opportunities. So companies that operate under this segment will all have same
strategies and therefore are called strategic groups.
Let us take the example of aviation industry. There are different segments within the industry like
luxury class, economy class, business class etc. The characteristic of luxury class segment will be
different from that of an economy class segment. Companies that operate under luxury class segment
face the same kind of competition in the market. Hence their strategic behavior and performance will be
similar. (Scholes et al., 2008).
In the Malappuram district area, we can see some of IGCSE schools like Straight path International
School, Silver mount International School and Benchmarks International School etc which provide same
IGCSE syllabus like BWS. The main difference is that BWS is providing these for LP and UP where HS
and HSE has Kerala syllabus.
Customer Segment Analysis
Customer segment is a practice of dividing an organization’s customers into groups that reflect
similarity among customers in each group. The goal of segmenting customers is to decide how to relate
to customers in each segment in order to maximize the value of each customer to the business.

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 11

The customer segment of BWS is the parents of students who are financially fit with motive to make
their children to acquire a great deal of professionalism or leadership in the coming future. In this rapid
world with sudden change in every sector and section there is a need of proper evaluation and
development of a person's interest and skills which can be done in BWS. So everyone who are aware
about this will take their children to BWS with a dream to make their children a owner of a world
renowned personality. Also the Al- Fitra syllabus in KG give students a good knowledge about the
Islam about the norms and laws in it, teach them ethics and sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (sw) which
attracts a lot of Malabar people.
1.2 Analyze the needs and expectations of stakeholders of an organisation.
While implementing new innovation and change in an organisation they have to analyze the interest and
power of the stakeholder to avoid and solve the resistance during the implementation.
Stake holder Analysis of BWS.
Stakeholders are a person, group or organization that has interest or concern in an organization.
Stakeholders can affect or be affected by the organization's actions, objectives and policies. Students are
the main stakeholder in the case of an educational institution. So in order to implement change we have
to meet all the propositions and resistances of stakeholder for successful change. If not they come up
with various problems in future.
According to Richard Lynch, ‘Organizational culture is the set of beliefs, values and learned ways of
managing in an individual organization’. Organizational is reflected in its structures, systems and
approach to the development of corporate strategy. Organizational culture derives from the aims,
objectives and those values those who work in the organization. According to Richard Lynch ‘The
cultural Web consists of the factors that can be used to characterize some aspects of the culture of an
organization’. It is a useful method of bringing together the basic elements that are helpful in analyzing
the culture of an organization. The main elements are stories, symbols, power structures, organizational
structure, control system, routines and rituals. (Lynch, 2018).
The current culture of BWS in both High School and Higher Secondary is a Role culture the teachers are
teaching only within the syllabus and students are learning for pass or gain high percentage of mark
which has to be change to Task culture which is project oriented where both teachers and students have
to perform task or project in group for grade assessment, which make them more practical oriented.
Structure of an organization defines how activities such as task allocation coordination and supervision
are directed toward the achievement of organizational aims. Organizations need to be efficient, flexible,
Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 12
innovative and caring in order to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. Organizational structure
can also be considered as the viewing glass or perspective through which individuals see their
organization and its environment. The current structure of Bienewabe is a tall structure with a
Bienewabe Educational Trust containing three Board of Directors Mr. Jabir sir, Mr. Faisal. P. Sayed sir,
Mr. Shihabudheen P sir, and have board of members under Mrs. Fatima madam. This board takes all the
strategic decision through discussions and as a managing partner Mr. Shihabudheen sir takes the
decision. At last with the help of Principal Zainab Moidheen madam they implement the decision inside
the organisation. All strategic plans and ideas and strategic decision of affiliation of school and fee
structures are taken under centralized Board of Directors and other decisions regarding academics and
implementation of syllabus related are taken under decentralized structure with a participation of board
of members and employees
As far as Bienewabe is concerned, they have been providing good IGCSE syllabus to students which
can fulfill all the criteria a student need for his good fortune future. But what they need is to implement
this syllabus to the both high school and higher secondary level where they can utilize this syllabus very
well through good and proper personality improving programs and interactions with prominent society
and various international culture with improving their personal skill or habit with aware about
surrounding.
When it coming to managing projects and implementing new ideas, your actions can affect a lot of
people and can influence people. These people could be strong supporters of your projects – or they
could block them, so you need to identify who these people are and win them over. This can be done
with the help of stakeholder analysis. There are three steps to doing it:-
 Identification of stakeholder.
The stakeholders of Bienewabe are Board of Directors, Teachers, Students, Parents, Government,
Owners, Society, Suppliers for IGCSE like Cambridge book suppliers and printing materials, origo
press, Suppliers for Al-fitrah ATQ Calicut, KSEB.
 Prioritization of Stakeholders.
This can be done with the help of simple Power Interest grid called Stakeholder map. It is a visual way
of showing how your stakeholders are classified in relation to their power and their interest in what you
are doing. The vertical dimension shows the amount of power that a stake holder has and the horizontal
dimension shows how much interest the stake holder has.

The people with High power and highly interested will keep it in the Manage closely position where
managers should engage these people and make great efforts to satisfy them. The people with high
power but less interested will keep it in the Keep satisfied position where they should be satisfied with
whatever changes and they should not get bored with messages. The Low power highly Interested
people can positioned in Keep Informed position where they take part in major discussions about arising
issues during the execution of process. They will be more helpful with the detail of project. The low
power less interested people are kept in Monitor or minimum effort position where they don't get bore
with excessive communication.

 Understand your Key Stakeholder.

Find out their motivation like what financial and emotional interests do they have in your project? Who
influences their opinions? How your key stakeholders feel about your project. You also need to work
out how best to engage them, and how to communicate with them?

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 14

Stakeholder Map of Bienewabe

Through this stakeholder map we can analyze the power and interest of stakeholder that have to deal
with for successful implementation of BWS new strategy of differentiation and cost leadership. So the
key stakeholders of BWS are BODs, Principal and share holders with good interests from teachers,
students, parents, IGCSE book suppliers and Al-Fitra suppliers and with the help of Origo press whose
interests are low with low power and the government, KSEB, Society with high power. These
stakeholders who are managing closely will expect a good return for their investments in it as a
sustainable growth with good market share and revenue which can attain through differentiation strategy
and cost leadership. The change agent has to ensure about commitment of stakeholder through their
strategic plan, and investment appraisal reports from financial department.

2.1 Use appropriate tools to analyze the effects of current business plans.

For an sustainable growth in an industry with good market share the organisation have to identify the
primary and support activities in it from day to day operations to provide more value in it according new
innovation and change in the social, lifestyle , trend in the industry to gain competitive advantage

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 15

through new strategies.
Value chain analysis.

Value chain analysis (VCA) is a process where a firm identifies its primary and support activities that
add value to its final product and then analyze these activities to reduce costs or increase differentiation.
Value chain represents the internal activities a firm engages in when transforming inputs into outputs.
Value chain analysis is a strategy tool used to analyze internal firm activities. Its goal is to recognize,
which activities are the most valuable (i.e. are the source of cost or differentiation advantage) to the firm
and which ones could be improved to provide competitive advantage. In other words, by looking into
internal activities, the analysis reveals where a firm’s competitive advantages or disadvantages are. The
firm that competes through differentiation advantage will try to perform its activities better than
competitors would do. If it competes through cost advantage, it will try to perform internal activities at
lower costs than competitors would do. When a company is capable of producing goods at lower costs
than the market price or to provide superior products, it earns profits.

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 16

While implementing this tool in BWS, they can analyze there are a lot of primary activities like Inbound
Logistics, Operations, Outbound Logistics, Marketing and Sales, Service and some Supporting
Activities like Firm Infrastructure, Human Resource Management, Technology Development,
Procurement; by checking those operation which give more competitive advantage in this educational
industry with more differentiation and cost leadership as Generic competitive strategy.
In the case of BWS by getting enough students and recruiting teachers as inbound logistics they can
transform those students into world leader by providing experimental knowledge by developing their
cognitive skills under the most prestigious world renowned IGCSE syllabus. There are inbound logistics
of both IGCSE and Al- Fitra syllabus text books through authentic dealers which is a mode of teaching
BWS has been doing were they have to innovate in to e-books which reduce a lot problems students are
facing due to bag weight problems. For developing those students the recruited teachers have to do a lot
Operations like teaching under with extracurricular activities and celebrations. This all operations are
working in functional level of this organization and the business level managers have to provide value to
these operations for sustainable growth through competitive advantage by finding their SWOT and
providing more developments in it with much more strategic approaches like differentiation and cost
leaderships. As outbound logistics BWS moulds world leaders who can lead this world in to new global
future through the skills they have acquired and can be part of many programs where they can find those
passions which can lead him to achieve career goal and objectives. Since BWS has started recently they
doesn't have any alumni. Marketing and Sales department in business level of BWS has to ensure that
their service is reaching to their customers in the market through proper advertisement and other
promotions and through proper relation with one of the stakeholder Origo press this can be done more
efficiently and productively. Apart from normal teaching and other functions BWS act as backward
integration school for The B School International in Kottakkal and other world famous institutes and
universities like Oxford, Harvard and MIT etc which is a service they have been doing along with
motivational classes and career development programs for students and teachers. They also provide
convocation and personality developments classes for students with giving allowance in fee structure for
economically backward students.
Capabilities of BWS
Strategic capability defines a business ability to successfully employ competitive strategies that allow it
to survive and increase its value over time. While strategic capability does take into account the
strategies a business uses, it focuses on the organization's assets, resources and market position,
Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 17
projecting how well it will be able to employ strategies in the future. Here it includes three types of
capabilities that are Dynamic Capabilities, Threshold Capabilities and Distinctive Capabilities.
Dynamic Capabilities
Dynamic capabilities means to renovate competences so as to accomplish corresponding with the
transforming business environment in an organization is referred to as dynamic.
In BWS as dynamic capability we can implement a lot of renovation in infrastructure, syllabus and
programs to cope up with future need and opportunity it will give for a sustainable growth in this
educational industry. They can alter the current syllabus of Kerala syllabus in HS and HSE in to more
sophisticated and renowned IGCSE syllabus with implementation exchange program of both student and
teacher since BWS has the resources for it.
Threshold capabilities
Threshold resources means are those needed for an organization to meet the necessary requirements to
compete in a given market and achieve parity with competitors in that market. For example a local
school and international school here they meet the necessary requirements resources of this two
organization that are bench, desk, uniform, books etc…
So threshold capabilities of BWS include the building or infrastructure such as class rooms, library,
computer lab, desk, bench, uniform and books, teachers etc.
Distinctive Capabilities
Distinctive capabilities defines an organization’s resources that are critical in communicate it with
competitive advantage are called distinctive capabilities.
Since BWS is a backward integration of The B School International, one of the prestigious institute in
Malabar to provide various international courses like Integrated MBA, CMA USA etc provide a good
leadership and teaching environment under eminent personalities who are well experienced in
international curriculum and its procedures which is a distinctive resource of BWS. Since they have
been dealing with international syllabus for around 11 years they can implement and develop various
programs with those experience and connection with the network they have made.
BCG matrix
It is defines four sorts of business: A star is a business unit which has a high market share in a growing
market. A question mark (or problem child) is a business unit in a growing market, but without a high
market share. A cash cow is a business unit with a high market share in a mature market. Dogs are
business units with a low share in static or declining markets.
Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 18
BCG matrix is an analytical tool used by corporations to analyze their business units, that is, their
product lines. This helps the company allocate resources and is used as an analytical tool in brand
marketing, strategic management, and portfolio analysis.
So in BWS the current syllabus of HS and HSE is a Cash cow with high market share and low market
growth so that by suitable method and procedures we have to change that in to more market share and
market growth IGCSE syllabus or in to Star. The current world has been looking more in to more
practical oriented experimental educational system for their children who are the future leaders and
person who are ready to change the world in to more simple. And the BWS has became a medium to
fulfill their goals.
Through the above analysis by using various tools we can conclude that the current systems and process
in BWS has good scope with more implementation new innovations and development of infrastructure.
Since BWS has been looking for a long term growth by providing good international service they have
to develop a differentiation strategy in every department by providing world renowned IGCSE syllabus.
Since it is the only school who provides this syllabus with less admission fee they have take cost
leadership strategy to attain desired revenue from it with good market share and brand in the society.
2.2 Review the position of an organisation in its current market
The B School International Kottakkal started BWS as a backward integration in the year 2014 and have
been showing great growth in students intake and academics which resulted in good competition with
other rivalries in vicinity like Farook English Medium School, Malabar English School, Thartheel
Central School etc. The competitive advantage of BWS compared to other school is their syllabus which
is world renowned and make student to use their cognitive skill at its best which mould the students in to
global leaders.
Currently the society is aware about the new syllabuses, which is entirely different from traditional
Kerala state syllabus or CBSE syllabus and are talking about its advantage and BWS. For this, in the
past three to four years they have been doing good promotions and have been giving good valued
service to society which attracted a lot good social parents and teachers and made a good brand in
educational industry. Every year BWS has succeeded to create a lot of HAFIZ and KHARI which
remarks the excellence of teachers and system in the school and parents and teachers of students are
very happy about this results. Through yearly convocation BWS honor those academically brilliant
students by awarding them which is a grand function for all the stakeholders of the organisation.

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 19

Through the celebrating various celebrations of India and other extracurricular activities BWS have been
showing a good leadership in educational industry which remarks the efficiency of their performance.

2.3 Evaluate the competitive strengths and weaknesses of an organization’s current business
strategies.

To analyze and find the strength and new opportunities of BWS also changing weakness to strength and
opportunity and to avoid threats during growth process they has to analyze the organisation internally by
using SWOT analysis.

SWOT Analysis of BWS.

The Strength of Bienewabe World School is their highly skilled teachers and employees. With a team
who are well trained and highly skilled, the Bienewabe World School is prominent in the educational
industry. Apart from common Kerala syllabus, BWS is providing two international syllabi Al-Fitrah and
IGCSE. The international syllabus for English learning medium will improve English and Arabic
language skill among the students. With well maintained and smart classrooms they provide a good
platform for nurturing the creative skill along with self-learning process which enhances student's
awareness behavior and thinking process. The main strength of Bienewabe World School is their strong
team of Board of directors, who all are from this teaching profession and are well experienced in the
educational industry. The Information and Communication Technology Lab (ICT Lab) of BWS opens a
wide area of self-learning process and give a very good platform to accelerate their creative skills by
knowing more about current culture and trends.

The weakness of Bienewabe World School is that it isn't providing an international standard of
education where they are lack with a lot of innovative programs which can encourage students to
challenge themselves to think differently and can change the way of perception about internationalism
and global interactions. Also in order to inspire the students about global leadership market and need
BWS should conduct panel discussions with eminent leaders of current era. Also to take the complete
meaning of world school they have to accompany or recruit some international students from all over
the world through exchange programs. There is a lack of proper training for both teachers and students
about this new model of syllabus which can be provided under certain associations like The Centre for

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 20

Research in Education & Teachers Training - CRETT. BWS does not have enough infrastructures as an
International School. The lack of good playground may affect the student's physical education and touch
with nature. Also, there is no proper transportation facility, compound wall and entrance gate which
questions the safety of students which is an important factor educational industry. Since Bienewabe
World School is depending on the external team for transportation of students, which is insecure for
students.

3.1 Use modeling tools to develop strategic options for an organisation

For a sustainable growth in future BWS has to come up with new corporate and business level strategies
which enable them to develop their organisation in to new directions. We can do that through generic
strategy tool and Ansoff Matrix tool were; generic strategy includes four components of cost leadership,
differentiation, cost focus and differentiation focus. The another tool Ansoff matrix gives a corporate
level directions of Market Development, Diversification, New product development and Market
Penetration.

Generic strategy
Michael Porter developed three generic strategies that a company could use to gain competitive
advantage, back in 1980. These three are cost leadership, differentiation and focus. The cost leadership
strategy advocates gaining competitive advantage due to the lowest cost of production of a product or
service. Lowest cost need not mean lowest price. Costs are removed from every link of the value chain-
including production, marketing, and wastages and so on. The product could still be priced at
competitive parity same prices as others, but because of the lower cost of production, the company
would be able to sustain itself even through lean times and invest more into the business all throughout.
(Mindtools.com, 2018).

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 21

The cost leadership would be one of the best strategies which can be implied in BWS to reduce the fee
structure as far as possible by differentiating their current service in to more departments of HS and
HSE with good career guidance to students according to their skills and aptitude. They have to reduce
the cost in every operation by out sourcing it to others or by making cheap logistics plan for every
operation. Since BWS already have prestigious IGCSE syllabus they can easily implement it in HS and
HSE.
Ansoff matrix
The Ansoff product/market growth matrix is a corporate strategy framework for generating four basic
directions for organisational growth. According to Ansoff, the organisation may choose between
penetrating still further within its existing sphere (staying in zone A) and increasing its diversity along
the two axes of increasing novelty of markets or increasing novelty of products. This process of
increasing the diversity of the range of products and/or markets served by an organisation is known as
‘diversification’.
Diversification involves increasing the range of products or markets served by an organisation.
Related diversification involves expanding into products or services with relationships to the existing
business. Thus on Ansoff's axes the organisation has two related diversification strategies available:
moving to zone B, developing new products for its existing markets or moving to zone C by bringing its

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 22

existing products into new markets. In each case, the further along the two axes, the more diversified is
the strategy. Alternatively, the organisation can move in both directions at once, following a
conglomerate diversification strategy with altogether new markets and new products (zone D). Thus
conglomerate (unrelated) diversification involves diversifying into products or services with no
relationships to existing businesses.

While there is no single key determinant of an effective school, research tells us that there are a number
of things that schools can do to become better and maximize the chances of success for every child.
These actions emerge from what are called the correlates, or indicators, of effective schools and research
confirms that the interrelated indicators of success include: high academic standards and expectations; a
school climate which focuses on achievement; instructional leadership; high performing teachers;
students with a strong self-efficacy and confidence as learners; parents with high aspirations and
expectations; learning resources that are fit-for-purpose; and excellent school governance which
includes sound financial management.
So as a corporate strategy for sustainable growth BWS can go through strategic directions of Ansoff
matrix like Market Penetration through further diversification of service they are providing. For this
market penetration the BWS has to ensure the above mentioned actions with more development in

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 23

service and by franchising it in to other market after some years they can attract other markets with more
diversification in to other segment or industry.
For further market penetration BWS has to increase their infrastructure with more promotions in every
Social Medias and bill boards with organizing international summit of world leaders. As a product
development they can implement the current IGCSE to other departments also by implementing new
medium for teaching through online and for market development they have open new franchise in other
geographical area like Calicut and Kochi. For diversification they can enter in to other industries like
Hospital or food industry etc.

3.2 Develop a comparative understanding of activity from organisations in the market.

From the analysis we can propose two generic strategies of cost reduction and differentiation through
reducing cost of activities in BWS with implementation of IGCSE in HS and HSE which give them
enough margins to develop their infrastructure and networks. In Kottakkal area there is a lot of school
who provides good education in English medium so that the BWS has to focus more on their IGCSE
syllabus which is rare in the area with more extracurricular activities.
As a corporate strategy with the analysis on Ansoff matrix for further market expansion or penetration
with existing service they has to develop their infrastructure which attract more students and their
parents to take admission in BWS and they can develop new services like providing career guidance
through aptitude tests or new exchange programs for international students from all across the world. By
franchising the organisation in to other geographical areas they can develop their hand on new markets
and areas.
This 21st century is totally different from what we had in 19th century, were 19th century is all about
industrial revolution were big manufacturing companies needed workers or engineers who constantly
works according to the academics they have got. That generation was totally different because as long as
they get salary for their labour work they are happy, but the current developed system needs persons
who can manage or forecast the upcoming scenarios by studying the current issues and situation. So the
students should have great perception skills and should always aware about the current world economy.
So in this competitive world one with idea and forecasting skill have value in the market. To have ideas
for the future he should be more aware about what is happening today and schools should provide
enough platforms for students to think out of box and to conquer new opportunities of world. So after
the acquisition of Al-manar Bienewabe got a new opportunity to implement IGCSE syllabus with Al-

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 24

Fitra syllabus for lower level students. Their main motive for this idea was for students to make aware
about global world and its future opportunities. Also this can be a great platform for them to build a
good culture and knowledge if they want pursue from international universities like Oxford, Harvard,
MIT etc.

3.3 Create options to form the basis of future organizational strategy

The current vision of BWS is to "consciously establish the 'Bienewabe World School' concept as a
leader in International Education of 'Malabar', holding tight to the ethical values and moral life-styles
aiming to create a generation having intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills needed to live,
learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world". For BWS to say an international school they should
accompany certain important aspects like more standard infrastructure, international students and
teachers etc. The current infrastructure only covers the threshold capabilities for a school and need
further more to provide standard international environment.
For a complete international school the students studying there and teachers teaching there has to be an
international citizen with different cultures united in the school campus to deliver and acquire various
shared information and deeds to mould their and others skills. The major skills needed are cognitive
skills, communicative, professional and good personality skills etc which can be mould in a good
campus with good variety culture during school hours and during organizing different extracurricular
activities and programs. So as an institution BWS has to make sure about those programs that will boost
up their skills and thinking process for better and bright future of the students.
BWS has to implement exchange programs of international students and should welcome other cultures
too for better learning of skills student's posses from other countries. For smooth running of
organisation, along with functional academic level BWS have to consider about both business level and
corporate level. All educational institutes apply classical attitude or approach for every year by just
solving problem of functional level according academic scheme given by the government. But there is a
need of more application oriented learning scheme with high engagement and performance attitude in
our education system. Along with functional level they have to focus on business level functions like
marketing, finance, human relation, academic process of teachers with more focus on core competence
techniques with a modern system management view approach. To make strong competitor organisation
BWS have to make functions of business level like marketing, finance and human relation departments
to core competition through proper branding and marketing techniques and should work together as a

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 25

whole organisation. For that they need to know about the audience of global and national environment
which can be analyzed using PESTLE environment. Since education is compulsory thing there is no
effect from politics and economy may affect the situation in both directions. The international syllabus
give a lot advantages to the society and give more innovative ideas to technology through creative skills.
Through porter's five forces BWS can understand the competitiveness and potential profitability of
business with an intention to alter strategy accordingly. Porter recognized that organizations likely keep
a close watch on their rivals, but he encouraged them to look beyond the actions of their competitors and
examine what other factors could impact the business environment. He identified five forces that make
up the competitive environment. By understanding it we can see that in Malabar international syllabus
institutions are less but there are lot common syllabus competitors so that BWS may have to improve
their quality and standard to high in order to compete with other competitors. So they need a good
organisational strategy which will take by stakeholders and make BWS as a strong competitor.

4.1 Propose a suitable structure for a strategy plan that ensures appropriate participation from all
stakeholders of an organisation.
BWS has a tall structure with a Bienewabe Educational Trust containing four Board of Directors Mr.
Jabir sir, Mr. Faisal. P. Sayed sir, Mr. Shihabudheen P sir and have board of members under Mrs.
Fatima madam and this board take all the strategic decision through discussions and as a managing
director Mr. Shihabudheen sir takes the final decision. The principal or Human resource manager Zainab
Moidheen madam implements these strategic decisions in to the functional or academic level of
organisation. Along with that there are some non academics who work for Marketing, Human Relation,
Finance, Office process who are biggest asset of Business level of organisation. The current culture
doesn't promote some of the HR process and strategy which retards the productivity of the organisation.
So there is a need of new structure according to the HR strategy to align every asset and employee in
very systematic way by solving the problems in a task culture with an integrative linkage of both
Business level and corporate level.

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 26

In BWS the HR manager Zainab madam do all the HR functions and maintain good employee relations
with teachers and other functional level employees. But the current structure doesn't give the
opportunity for employees to express their strategic opinions about future endeavors of BWS. So that
they have to alter their current structure to flat structure by decentralization method with implementation
of IGCSE syllabus in both high school and higher secondary which promote the brand value and we can
decentralize the structure according to it. Since there are three syllabus in BWS which increase the
difficulty to manage and there by altering Kerala syllabus to IGCSE, there is no need of two principal
and two heads above the principal. By this there will be more interaction between functional level,
business level and corporate level which will increase the efficiency of the system.

In the tall structure there will be a big hierarchy which reduce the effectiveness of the system and the
also reduce the freedom to take the decision on their own. Since BWS is a creative oriented international
school BWS have to promote flat structure which give employee an opportunity to enhance their skills
and develop according to the system for future productivity and sustainable growth. The most important
action in this world is experimentation since, through that he or she will get enough exposure to gain

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 27

new knowledge and he will no longer fear about doing something special or new. For all this he has to
take his own decision without any hesitation which only promotes in decentralized flat structure.

The new proposing structure for BWS for more productivity and sustainable growth is given below:-

4.2 Develop criteria for reviewing potential options for a strategy plan and 4.3 Construct an
agreed strategy plan that includes resource implications
Here in this learning outcome SAF analysis has to be done for new strategy to implement exchange
program and IGCSE syllabus in HS and HSE. The suitability analyze gives that the management and
stakeholders are well supported for this and will give BWS an competitive edge as compare to other
rivals like Farook, Malabar and Thartheel etc. Since to say an international school it is compulsory they
should admit international students and teachers with good and new culture to mould new skills. Since
BWS is well known about the importance of IGCSE they have to implement it in both HS and HSE
departments. Good skills will mould in a system where there is an availability of a lot of culture to act
together and learn from each other. The infrastructure also has to suitable for this so that BWS has to
develop more of it with good cost reduction.
The acceptability of this is very good since the management has well experience in international
education with a lot of good international network which give them enough resources needed for the
implementation. The major resistance BWS face is from the kerala government who are totally against
Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 28
the changing the kerala syllabus to IGCSE so that they have to take enough measures against it. But
after the implementation the parents, students and other stakeholders will support this since they are the
one who benefit from it. After the implementation of exchange program of international students the
parents and society will treat the school differently and will attract more students and parents to take
admission in BWS which gives a sustainable growth and even they can alter the fee structure to much
more increment. Since it is much more complicated process for those who doesn't have such networks
and experience the imitation of this is low which give BWS more advantage. So that BWS should focus
on such type of process who is only capable for those who have experience in international education
industry for more than 10 years.
The feasibility of this strategy is not that much high since there is a need of more skilled teachers even
in HS and HSE to implement and the infrastructure also has to give support for it. While thinking from
the student's side it will give more advantage to their learning and developing of skills needed for future
with good support from them. Since modern world focus on the application based learning it have good
scope in future and those students can acquire or use this learning for their graduation from other
prestigious institutes and universities like Harvard, MIT etc. Through exchange programs students can
learn more about cultural diversity in the world and will give them enough exposure and ability to
anywhere in the world. This also impart a good confidence in students to go and study about new culture
and traditions in every world also the learning they gets through travelling and experiences will be
remarkable. For this process there is a need of infrastructure and good networks which can be made
easily with the help of experience BWS has.
Along with this BWS has to make serious alteration in all fuctional level of Marketing, Human resource,
finance section etc according to their new strategy and should find enough standard operating value
system to gain more competitive advantage. They have to do more promotion of the industry and
operation in it which attract more customers from society and should perform good operating functions
under a good leadership to gain more.
5.1 Compare core organizational values (ethical, cultural, environmental, social and business)
with the current business objectives of an organisation.
When a child is concerned, he spends most of his time in the school environment with other students by
learning lot of knowledge from all around him, learns good manners, ethics, personality, kindness,
friendships, respect, humanity etc through good interaction and communication. So the school has to be

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 29

more conscious about the environment, society and culture in it to make them a good future citizen
through proper evaluation of their mental and physical health.
Bienewabe is in an idyllic setting; sprawling campus amidst hills and fields, fine weather and a natural,
pollution-free atmosphere that satisfies a crucial need in today's world for students to learn, observe,
introspect and contemplate in a most desirable environment. Education in such an ambience is a
rewarding experience for our students, truly their “wonder years”. Students start each day with an
assembly during which the recitation of surahs, duas and the 99 names of Allah illuminates the school's
atmosphere. Smiling and greeting with salaam through the corridors is a common practice. Teachers
show an appreciable realization of their teachings through their practice. The implementation of
teachings is evident; students working, praying, playing or resting, they show discipline, manners and
etiquettes.
Innovative soft boards reinforce teaching concepts. These are periodically updated by children on their
academic and Islamic lesson activities and theme of the month information. They vibrantly add to the
school environment and have a significant effect on students by enhancing their creative skills and
cognitive skills and give visitors a good vibe to rest and do their business. The good attitude that
students shows to a stranger are one of the excellent gesture BWS has gained from their way of teaching
and have to encourage the teachers to do more of this work in future.

5.2 Develop appropriate vision and mission statements for an organisation

Vision:-
Vision- is a company’s desired achievements or future state or an inspirational description of what an
organization would to achieve or accomplish in the mid-term or long term future. The company created
the vision statement to provide their employees with a clear direction. (charles W.L hill and gareth R.
jones,(2013).
Vision of BWS:-
Consciously establish the 'Bienewabe World School' concept as a leader in International Education of
'Malabar', holding tight to the ethical values and moral life-styles aiming to create a generation having
intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills needed to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing
world.
This vision of BWS is very much accurate to give a strategic direction for a long term to be leader in
International Education by emphasizing the major values and objectives in it. The vision of BWS

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 30

contains all the aspects needed for a vision statement according to the strategy and will give a good
direction to sustainable growth.
Mission:-
Mission- is purpose of the company, it is written declaration of an organization’s core purpose and focus
that normally remains unchanged over time. it explore the existence purposes of the organization or it
shows way is how to achieving the particular vision of the organization. (charles W.L hill and gareth R.
jones,(2013).
Mission of BWS:-
Mission of BWS is to provide an information rich environment that support and encourage excellence in
teaching and research that connects strongly with the issues on local, national and international
stakeholders and to prepare students for an ever-changing global community.
Here in mission they have to say about the exchange program they has to implement which attract the
customer with their mode of teaching and the exposure students will get through it also with good
culture and skills.
5.3 Produce agreed future management objectives for an organisation.
There is a need of objectives for achieving this mission for which we have to consider the balanced
scorecard (BSC). It is a framework used for implementing and managing the organizational strategy and
linking it with vision and mission of company. The main uses of it are it helps the better strategic
planning and communication of the strategy to other stakeholders for better sustainable organisational
growth.

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 31

It contains four parts; those are financial perspective, customer perspective, internal business processes
perspective, and learning and growth perspective. Subject to financial perspective, here we consider the
financial perspective of organization such as improve sales, increase project revenue and increase
investments. Subject to customer perspective, here we consider the customer perspective of organization
such as customer loyalty, lower prices than others, better service, etc. Subject to internal business
processes perspective, here we consider the internal processes perspective of organization such as
employee retention, better supply chain management and growth. Subject to learning and growth
perspective, here we consider the learning and growth perspective of organization such as employee
training and how can we improve value. (Balancedscorecards, 2018).

By applying the balances scorecard in BWS they can set an strategic objectives for a sustainable growth
according to their vision and mision. The balances score card for BWS is follows:-

As an organisational Provide training and

growth increase the development to all
students intake. employees.

Strategy and
Vision for BWS

Provide low fee structure Implement new low cost

for both IGCSE and Al- Innovations in day to day
fitrah syllabus operations.

For a sustainable growth according to their strategic vision BWS has to apply the balanced scorecard
which gives them good strategic directions to apply in it. This are as a financial perspective they have to
increase the student's intake in next academic year with enough strategic marketing and SHR plan. For
more learning about the organization BWS has to give proper on the job and off the job training to the

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 32

employee which in return gives more prosperity or growth in the organisation. For this growth they have
to attract more customers as parents and students BWS has ensure about the service they are providing
in low price or should differentiate their service with more introduction of infrastructure they can
increase the quality there by can increase the price with more cost reduction in infrastructure. To
increase the quality of service BWS has to implement more innovations in their day to day operation of
teaching and other activities like VR based teaching program, Wi-Fi for everyone, children's with Tab
for learning and doing home work, Cloud system for storage, Student portal system etc. This all
perspectives in the balanced scorecard will give a good strategic objective for BWS to attain their
strategic vision with sustainable growth.

5.4 Develop measures for evaluating a strategy plan.

For evaluating the implementation status of the strategic plan that BWS has been working on can be
done by using certain tools like Key Performance Indicator (KPI). Through KPI they can constantly
check the performance of the new strategic implementation of new innovations in educational industry
and can attain the strategic vision of BWS with suggesting new improvements needed for
implementation. Basically, KPIs can be used within an organization or department to track its goals and
determine how best to fine tune its core practices to achieve the best results. (Mindtools.com, 2018).

So in BWS to attain successful implementation of new strategic innovation they has to constantly check
the progress they have made and developments needed to attain the strategic vision through a
sustainable growth with the help of KPI and the balanced scorecard. The innovations like implementing
IGCSE in both HS and HSE departments, providing cloud servers for sharing data and information,
providing online courses, and developing present infrastructure to more international standard will have
to do very carefully with proper plan to avoid future complications and problems. This can be done by
using tools like KPI and the balanced scorecard.
In BWS the application of KPI and the balanced scorecard made the implementation very smooth to
attain the desired new strategic objective to attain strategic vision with sustainable growth. The Key
Performance Indicator objectives of BWS are to produce a growth in student's intake in next academic
year by 10% with improvements in communication skills of students as an international school.
Communication skill of students can increase by providing spoken English classes and making an
English only campus in BWS. For that they use good language tools like software and learning sounds

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 33

and how to read in phonetic transcriptions given in advanced dictionaries. The BWS also use spelling
bee competition for increasing the students thrive towards the English communication skill. They also
have good campus to nourish the thinking mentality to enhance their cognitive skill. By boosting
confidence in writing through essay writing, article writing, poem writing, travelogue etc the can
facilitate the students to take globally recognized exams of Cambridge. To increase the student's intake
they should make a good brand image in society by providing good service and relationship marketing.
They have to target the customers and have to make 4Ps of marketing accordingly.

As a academic progress BWS should enhance the students quality education The methods of KPI like
constant and frequent checking of progress by finding new challenges and updates BWS can easily
implement the desired innovations in the day to day operation to make them No.1 in educational
industry which give a wonderful opportunity for students to pursue higher career level as sky is the limit
with good personality.

6.1 Develop a schedule for implementing a strategy plan in an organisation.

In this learning outcome for schedule or compute the time period that BWS will take for successful
implementation of above mentioned strategy or innovation there is a need of proper plan which are
explained in the next few paragraphs.

Currently for KG students BWS has been providing Egyptian Al-Fitrah syllabus which give them good
direction or path to attain peace and prosperity through Islam. After that for LP and UP students BWS is
providing Cambridge International IGCSE program which is more experimental of practical based
learning of concepts and theories. But for HS and HSE still they are providing traditional Kerala
syllabus which has to be change to world renowned IGCSE for students who wants to enhance their
skills to become world leader and to get good career ahead.

This change of taking the syllabus to both High School and Higher Secondary which is already there in
both Lower and Upper primary have to conduct by either BODs or Principal under the supervision of
BODs. As we can see the BODs and Principal are very good transformational leaders with good social
and emotional intelligence make the communication and influencing much easier. The change agent has
to be self motivated and be aware about the syllabus for addressing stakeholders and other important

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 34

personalities related to the implementation. Change agent needs the skill and power to guide and
facilitate the change effort.

During implementation change agent have to make sure about various other factors like infrastructure to
provide standard quality curriculum and consent from shareholders, parents, teachers and mainly
students which will take enough time to do it. Before conducting change BWS have to provide more
infrastructures and have to conduct classes to make the students ready for the new syllabus. It may take
duration of around say total three years. In High School level it may take three years to complete the
change while two years in Higher Secondary. Since there is need of change in existing infrastructure and
culture, a quick change is not applicable. After three years the current batch students in High School will
get down so that after three years there won't be any complication. But for current students they may
feel some problem so that change has to implement in 9th, 10th and +2 right now. Next year they can
implement it in 8th and +1 standard too. Before this they have to ready with every infrastructure needed
for syllabus. One of the challenge BWS will face is involvement of stakeholders in the change process
which can be done through either telling, selling, testing, consulting, co creating.

6.2 Create appropriate dissemination processes to gain commitment from stakeholders in an

organisation.

For a sustainable growth in future with good market share through brand image in society the
organisation has to implement new innovation in it according to the trend, life style of targeted segment
of customer. While implementing new innovations and strategies, the stakeholders of the organisation
may show certain resistance for successful implementation of IGCSE syllabus in HS and HSE
departments as a differentiation strategy and should show good cost sheet for the development of
infrastructure from Finance department which should be according to the budget plan for a good
strategic as a good financial technique and BWS has to be properly managed. It can be done by using
various methods which is given below:-

 Education and communication.

Teachers, parents and students should be aware and educated with the need for international syllabus in
current global market with more seminar international summit like the program they has done in PM
auditorium through facilitating Mr. David Cortazer, Director of Abe-UK., logic of change and

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 35

opportunities student will gain from this international syllabus. These can be done through one to one
discussions with every stakeholder, by providing presentations to groups of HS and HSE or memos and
reports by change agent or strategic leader.

 Facilitation and support.

The person who is responsible for implementation has to be supportive by giving training of new skills
needed to teachers for IGCSE syllabus and by simply listening and providing emotional support. The
leader has to a charismatic leader who intends to transform their employees to future leaders. Providing
various on the job and off the job training increases the employees and staffs performance and may act
as big support for them. Facilitation and support are most helpful when fear and anxiety lie at the heart
of resistance.

 Negotiation and agreement.

Here by giving more salary and job security to active resistors through a change agreement
implementation can be accessible. By addressing society about advantage they will get through the
future of students and making shareholders and owners to convince on their future stability we can
implement the change. By making serious agreement on culture issues with teaching staff change agent
can manage the resistance.

 Explicit and implicit coercion.

This can be final stage where change agents like managers deal the resistance coercively by forcing
people to accept change explicitly or implicitly threatening with loss of jobs, promotion possibilities by
actually firing or transferring them. This method makes teacher and other non teaching staff to accept
the syllabus by force for their job security.

Since the shareholders are the one who invested in the organisation with good power and interest,
educating them about the scope of the new innovation and its long term successful plan the commitment
can be retained for further expansion and developments. After some years by getting good alumni,
school may get serious donations from them which can used for developments as an annual plan and
have to address the stakeholder with such future strategic plans and by teaching them the demand for

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 36

alien international syllabus in the educational industry with the scope of exchange programs in the
Malabar area as an international school BWS can ensure the commitment of stakeholder.

6.3 Design monitoring and evaluation systems for the implementation of a strategy plan in an
organisation.

After the above mentioned implementation of above mentioned strategic plan there is necessary need of
monitoring and evaluation for successful and sustainable growth in future. The principal Mrs. Zainab
maam has to do various monitoring process for evaluating the success of implementation with respect to
strategic vision of BWS. This process can be supported by the use of Key Performance Indicator which
helps a continuous improvement of different operations in this educational industry.

As a new strategic objective to attain a sustainable growth as strategic vision of BWS they have to
increase the student intake in coming academic years which need a big support from stakeholders for
more infrastructure and other updates and innovation needed to attract more customers like parents and
students. For this the principal has to conduct various meeting with all the respective stakeholders to
gather the data and information about various aspects regarding the development they are looking for
and should lead them to attain a good strategic vision. By taking proper review from the entire
stakeholder during above mentioned meeting the principal can compute or evaluate the progress.

For continuous improvement in BWS the principal Mrs. Zainab Madam has to do proper survey on
teaching and non-teaching staffs about the development they have made, benefit of the current system
over previous one, working culture and satisfaction level etc to improve if needed. By making weekly
and monthly meeting she can monitor this by taking feedback from major stakeholders of BWS. By
benchmarking with other international schools or previous system of BWS she can make report on the
development they have made after implementation and further improvements needed to enhance the
efficiency of service and operations of BWS.

Agil Muhad PT Strategic Planning Page 37

Conclusion.

For a sustainable growth according to the strategic vision there is a need of new updates and innovation
in the industry which have to be implement according to a proper plan or strategic plan. In this
assignment by analyzing different level of strategies like Corporate Level, Business Level and
Functional Level with respect to Generic Strategy, Ansoff Matrix and BCG matrix I concluded there is a
need of more differentiated service with more cost reduction so that BWS can attain their desired
strategic vision of becoming leader in international education. And finally by using tools like KPI and
the balanced scorecard BWS can check and evaluate the progress they have made by suggesting further
improvements needed for implementation.
