Narrative Report For Prom
The Junior Promenade is the event that all the juniors have been wishing and waiting since the start of the
school year, has finally come true. Speculation and curiosity can be seen and heard everywhere before the actual
program, but this event all came to life through the efforts and careful planning of the Faculty and GPTA Officers.
This Junior Promenade was held in Montalban Heights National High School last March 8, 2019. The students from
grades 8-10 attended the said event. The teachers were ready and did their assigned tasks enthusiastically.
On that day, the ESP Dept. attended the registration which started from 2:00pm. A lot of beautiful young
ladies and men arrived in the school with their lavish gowns and suits. At 4:00pm, the program started.
First was the grand entrance of all participants. The grade 8 students headed the marching followed by the grade 9
and 10 students. They were introduced by the master of ceremony who was Mr. Lorenzo Ruiz Costo, English
teacher. Next to the students was the entrance of the faculty from different departments and GPTA officers
headed by Mrs. Ginalyn Amigo.
The event was formally opened with a prayer by Ms. Gregorio, ESP teacher. It was followed with the
singing of the national anthem conducted by Mr. Medina, MAPEH teacher. Next was opening remarks by Mr.
Remegio B. Olesco, the school principal. Then the inspirational message by the school head teacher, Mrs. Cecil Q.
Alvaran.
Next was the dance competition of the grade level. Each level had their Modern cotillion. Before the star
ball competition began, the panel of judges was presented by Mrs. Coed Pariña, MAPEH teacher.
The participants were very energetic in presenting their dance. The competition was tough, they performed well
and they danced gracefully.
While waiting for the final decision of the judges, icebreaker was led by the game master, Ms. Fortes,
Filipino teacher. Each table had representatives and played card relay using only their cheeks. Students from table
nos. 31 to 40 won the game.
The students had their dinner prepared by Rowie’s catering. They enjoyed the delicious food. While they
were eating, Mr. Melvin Miape, AP teacher, Ms. Shyla Luna and Mrs. Coed Pariña, MAPEH teachers roamed
around and looked for young girls and boys for the special awards such as King and Queen, Prince and Princess,
Faces of the Night, Darling of the Crowd, Best in Attire, Best in Long Gown and Best in Cocktail dress. After the
dinner, Mrs. Pariña presented the finalists and Ms. Shyla Luna introduced the board of judges. Then the
declaration and awarding of winners was headed by Mr.Miape.
The winners were the following:
Best in Attire: Male- Mr. Balasbas, grade 9
Best in Long Gown: Ms. Gonzalgo, grade 10/ Best in Cocktail dress: Ms. Salvador, grade 8
Darling of the Crowd: Male- Mr. Tuyay/ Female- Ms. Tayam, grade 8
Faces of the Night: Male- Mr. Bosquillos, grade 9/ Female- Ms. Yema, grade 10
Prince of the Night: Mr. Bautista, grade 9/ Princess of the Night: Ms. Dela Vega, grade 9
King of the Night: Mr. Bagang, grade 10/ Queen of the Night: Ms. Cunanan, grade 10
For the Dance Competition:
1st Place: Grade 10
2nd Place: Grade 9
They were all applauded by the audience as they received their sash, trophies, crowns, certificates and
cash for the winners in the dance competition. The smiles on their faces were seen. They were so happy to be
chosen to get the special awards. All of them deserved for what they got. The socials followed after the awarding.
The party ended at 10:00pm with closing remarks given by the faculty president and Filipino teacher, Mr. Royce
Guillido. After the event, the MAPEH department started the breakdown to make sure that the cleanliness of the
school will be maintained.
All juniors in attendance had a blast that night. Moments like these are really the things that make Junior
High very memorable. It was peacefully and successfully ended with 369 participants.
