A sanitary sewer overflow from the Lemmon Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant contaminated soil and surface water near an elementary school. An unknown quantity of sewage entered the sewer system and mixed with water already present from recent rain, extending from the treatment plant to the school grounds. A caller reported seeing drone photos on Facebook showing the breach and possible contamination of the school playground. No remedial action had been taken yet and state and local agencies were notified for oversight and enforcement.
