Auto Cad Drawing Editor Screen
Auto Cad Drawing Editor Screen
Drawing area:-
These area is used for drawing the Drawing Entities. (such as Point, line, circle, arc
etc). You can change the size of the drawing area by using the command called LIMITS.
By default the size is (0, 0) Lower left corner, (12, 9) upper right corner.
Status line and menu Bar (tool bars):-
Shows the status of your drawing (i.e. layer detail, co-ordinate detail, ortho, snap
etc. mode ON or OFF).
Menu Bars (tool bars ) are the buttons shown under pull down menu area which
activates the Auto cad commands when selected by using the mouse pointer.
Command area:-
You can enter any command from the keyboard as long as you’re in command
mode. If you are in drawing area you can return to command area at any time by Pressing
CTRL-C.
1. Introduction:-
UNITS:- Sets the format and precision for the display of co-ordinates and angle.
LIMITS:- Sets the Rectangular drawing area or enables and disables the limits ch
GRID:- Adjust the spacing of the visible grid (rectangular patterns of dots and
turns grid NO or OFF).
AXIS: - Adjusts the spacing of the hatch marks along the edge of the drawing
display.

the pointer.
SNAP: - Adjusts snap spacing and angle and turns snap ON or OFF.
LINE: - Places a straight line segment on series of straight line segments in the
drawing.
EXTEND: - Extends selected lines arcs and polylines to meet other selected items.
DIVIDE: - Places points along a line, arc polyline (or) circle that divide it into a
specified number of segments.
MEASURE: - Place point along a line arc polyline (or) circle that measures
off a series of equal distances.
TRIM: - Trims off selected parts of on entity at the intersection of other
selected entities.
SPLINE: -
4. Scales
SCALE: - Scales the size of one (or) more entities in relation to specified point
DIVIDE: - Place points along a line arc, polyline that divide it into a specified
number of segments.
PAN: - Shifts the displayed parts of the drawing without changing the
magnification.
UNITS: - Sets the format and precision for display of co-ordinates and angle
5. Points
POINTS: - Places points in the drawing
6. Straight lines
LINE: - Place a straight line segment (or) series of straight line segment in the
drawing
3D LINE: - Draw 3D straight line segment.
OFFSET: - Draw parallel lines/ arcs, polylines at a specified distance from the
originals
7. Planes
AREA: - Calculates area of various shapes.
3D FACE: - Creates a surface bounded by three (or) four edges (corners can have
different Z locations)
V POINT: - Sets the location in space from which the viewing line of sight
originates.
8. Solids
ELEV: - Set Z elevations and thickness for subsequent entities
3D FACE: - creates a surface bounded by three (or) four edges (corners can have
different Z location)
HIDE: - Hide (or displays in different colors) entities that are behind other
entities according to current view point
COPY: - Place one (or) more copies of one (or) more entities a specified
displacement from the original entities.
CHAMFER: -Chamfers (bevels) a corner with one (or) more specified distances
ROTATE: - Rotates one (or) more entities in the X-Y plane around a specified
point.
9. Section
10. Development
3D FACE: - Creates a surface bounded by three (or) four edges (corners can
have different Z location)
EDGE SURF: - Creates a coons surface mesh with four connected entities as
defining edge
.
SURFTAB: - Control the number of surface elements in the M and N
direction of a mesh.
12. Isometric
ISOPLANE: - Selects the left, top or right isometric plane.
SNAP: - Set the snap style to Isometric style from the standard style
13. Orthographic
ARRAY: - Make multiple copies of one (or) several items in a rectangular (or)
polar pattern
