MC Socks

Minecraft socks are designed to look like the blocks from the popular video game Minecraft. The pattern uses an 8-row brick pattern and earth tones of blue, green, gray, and brown. MINECRAFT SOCKS

MineCraft socks are top down socks designed to look like the 8-bit bricks in
the very popular computer game, MINECRAFT. Best colors are earth
colors: blue, green, grey, and brown, which mimic the colors in the game.

Materials
Approximately 350yds fingering weight sock yarn
US2, 32” circular needles
Size: Women’s medium
Gauge: 8 sts/inch

Cuff
Loosely cast on 64sts and join without twisting to knit in the round. Using
magic loop method, divide
the stitches 32sts on each needle.
Ribbing: k1 (p2, k2) repeat to last 3 sts, end with p2, k1

Leg
Brick Pattern:
Round 1-3: knit
Round 4-6: k1 (p2, k2) repeat to last 3 sts, end with p2, k1
Round 7-9: knit
Round 10-12: p1 (k2, p2) repeat to last 3 sts, end with k2, p1
Repeat rounds 1-12 until desired length, ending with round 12.
Heel
Heel Flap, work across 32 stitches
Working back and forth on sole sts only, slip the first stitch of each row
purlwise.
Row 1 (RS): sl1, knit across
Row 2 (WS): sl1, purl across
Row 3: sl1, knit across
Row 4: sl1, (k2, p2) repeat to last 3 sts, k2, p1
Row 5: sl1, (p2, k2) repeat to last 3 sts, p2, k1
Row 6: sl1, (k2, p2) repeat to last 3 sts, k2, p1
Row 7: sl1, knit across
Row 8: sl1, purl across
Row 9: sl1, knit across
Row 10: sl1, (p2, k2) repeat to last 3 sts, p2, k1
Row 11: sl1, (k2, p2) repeat to last 3 sts, k2, p1
Row 12: sl1, (p2, k2) repeat to last 3 sts, p2, k1
Repeat rows 1-12
Repeat rows 1-6

Turn Heel
Row 1: sl1, k17, ssk, k1, turn
Row 2: sl1, p4, p2tog, p1, turn
Row 3: sl1, k5, ssk, k1, turn
Row 4: sl1, p6, p2tog, p1, turn
Continue in this manner, decreasing at every gap before turning, until 18sts
remain. Place stitch marker
in middle (9sts on each side of marker) to mark beginning of round.

Gusset
Now you’ll pick up stitches along both sides of the heel flap and start knitting
the gusset. Pick up
one extra stitch on each side between the heel flap stitches and the instep
stitches to prevent a hole in
this area. Then decrease two stitches on every other round to shape the
gusset.
Gusset shaping
Pick up 18sts on each side of the gusset (plus an extra stitch in the corners if
you need to avoid a gap)
Round 1: k1, ssk, knit to 3 sts before the end of the needle, k2tog, k1
Round 2: knit
Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until 64sts remain.
Work in pattern until the foot measures 2 1/2″ shorter than desired length.
Brick pattern on needle 2, stockinette on needle 1.
End with Row 12.
Toe
Round 1: Knit to the last last 3 sts on needle 1: k2tog, k1; needle 2: k1, ssk,
knit across to last 3 sts,
k2tog, k1; needle 1: k1, ssk, knit to end of round.
Round 2: Knit
Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until 12sts remain.
Use Kitchener stitch to close the toe.

Finishing
Weave in ends.
