Trampette
Here a trampette is used. There are two components of this; Vault and the Trampette on
its own. There has to be three runs in total. At least one of these runs has to be a vault
run. Another run has to include all the gymnasts doing the same move. This is generally
the first run. This is also performed to music.

History
The benefits of exercise have been known since antiquity. Marcus Cicero, around 65 BC,
stated: "It is exercise alone that supports the spirits, and keeps the mind in vigor."
However, the link between physical health and exercise (or lack of it) was only
discovered in 1949 and reported in 1953 by a team led by Jerry Morris. Dr. Morris noted
that men of similar social class and occupation (bus conductors versus bus drivers) had
markedly different rates of heart attacks, depending on the level of exercise they got: bus
drivers had a sedentary occupation and a higher incidence of heart disease, while bus
conductors were forced to move continually and had a lower incidence heart disease. This
link had not previously been noted and was later confirmed by other researchers.

Amber Pocernich :These gymnasts are allowed to compete at state as well as regional
and national competitions after level 7. Skills in gymnastics fit into different categories of
difficulty A being the easiest and super E being the hardest. Only gymnasts in level Elite
which is the top of level 10 are allowed to perform super E skills. In each level gymnasts
are required to do a certain number of skills which fall into each difficulty level and if
they do not then their start value will drop. Elite is a upper branch of level 10 gymnastics.
Elite gymnasts are the best of the best, they are not the ones who compete in college
(college gymnasts are typically levels 9 and 10). The girls seen in the olympics and on
national competitions broadcast on TV are typically Elite.

Aerobic versus anaerobic exercise

Fox and Haskell formula showing the split between aerobic (light orange) and anaerobic
(dark orange) exercise and heart rate.
Aerobic exercise and fitness can be contrasted with anaerobic exercise, of which strength
training and short-distance running are the most salient examples. The two types of
exercise differ by the duration and intensity of muscular contractions involved, as well as
by how energy is generated within the muscle. Initially during aerobic exercise, glycogen
is broken down to produce glucose, which then reacts with oxygen (Krebs cycle) to
produce carbon dioxide and water and releasing energy. In the absence of these
carbohydrates, fat metabolism is initiated instead.

Trampolining and Tumbling

Double Mini-trampoline competitor
Trampolining and tumbling consists of four events, individual, synchronized, double mini
and power tumbling. Since 2000, individual trampoline has been included in the Olympic
Games. Individual routines in trampolining involve a build-up phase during which the
gymnast jumps repeatedly to achieve height, followed by a sequence of ten leaps without
pauses during which the gymnast performs a sequence of aerial skills. Routines are
marked out of a maximum score of 10 points. Additional points (with no maximum at the
highest levels of competition) can be earned depending on the difficulty of the moves.

Amber Pocernich : Both aerobic and anaerobic exercise also work to increase the
mechanical efficiency of the heart by increasing cardiac volume (aerobic exercise), or
myocardial thickness (strength training). Such changes are generally beneficial and
healthy if they occur in response to exercise.

Amber Pocernich Bio Categories of physical exercise

* Strength training
* Agility training
Sometimes the terms 'dynamic' and 'static' are used. 'Dynamic' exercises such as steady
running, tend to produce a lowering of the diastolic blood pressure during exercise, due to
the improved blood flow. Conversely, static exercise (such as weight-lifting) can cause
the systolic pressure to rise significantly (during the exercise).
