Processing:
 FAMILY is defined as the basic unit of the society, meaning FAMILY is also
the basis of our FAITH.
 “ The death of family is the death of humanity, and it is the great danger”
(Papal legate Cardinal Maung Bo- during the International Eucharistic
Congress 2016)
 We have our own personal struggles in our family and its members
 Conflicts in Family is nothing new, in fact, it is the common theme in many
stories in the bible. One example of such family strife is the story of Jacob and
his brother Esau (see Gen.25:29-34, Gen.27:18;40 and Gen.27:41)
 “The hardest place to follow Jesus is at your home”
 Guess what? Not one of us has a perfect family here on earth. We all get sick
of each other at times.
 There may be some misunderstanding of the family that may discourage us
but remember that God doesn’t want His children to be lonely. That’s why HE
sets up a family for us, not only our actual family, but also people in the
church.
 There are three powerful words that will heal family’s conflict. Words such as:
“May I”, “Thank You” and “Sorry”.
 Crowds who follow to hear Jesus words are mostly families.
 And family who took effort on following and listening to Jesus will never be
hungry.
 None of us is perfect also, but even our simple gestures and actions of love to
reach out on our family will make a difference.

Points for reflections:

1. What are my personal struggles at home?
2. How do I want my family to be part of God’s family- the Church?
3. What are the simple actions or gestures that I can share with the
members of the family that I am not close with?

10:15- Snacks

10:45- Ice Breaker:No feet on the ground

11:00- Session II
Processing:
 Mercy defines as kindness or help given to people who are in very bad or
desperate situation.
 Also define as “Compassion”
 Latin word “cum”-with “passio”- to suffer ( meaning to suffer with)
 Everytime we show mercy to others, we are also one with their sufferings.
 But most of the times we opted not to share. Why? “Because I am weak,
broken and sinful”
 The situation of the child in the gospel is the same with our concerns- small,
weak, afraid, etc.
 He can keep his food with him if he wanted but still he chose to share it
instead.
 Barley was the poorest kind of bread. Five loaves are little more than five
slices. And the two fish are dry.
 Jesus always wants us to share the simplest thing.
 He is not always asking of too much on us but instead He wants us to give
even the little that we have.
 We must always remember that sharing is equated to loving.”You can give
without loving, but you can’t love without giving”
 Love always requires sacrifice and sacrifice is always painful. Why? Because
we are going out of our own self-centeredness.
 Most of the times we understood sacrifice as “loss of self”. However it is not a
loss of self, rather I complete and fulfill it.

Activity I: Video presentation

Activity II: I can Share

1. Students will be asked to write their simple realizations regarding the activity I
on paper.
2. Students will be grouped to share their realizations on the video presented.
3. Facilitator will asked the students to post their realizations on the cartolina
provided after the session.

Materials: Colored papers, double-sided tape, writing materials

12:00- Lunch Break

1:00- Ice Breaker

1:30- Session III

Activity I: “Tie of Friendship”
1. There are ties with 3 different provided for each student.
2. Each tie represents different meanings such as :blue-sorry, yellow-thank you,
orange-I love you
3. Each student will give it to the person they want to say thank you, sorry and I
love you.

Processing:
 Eucharist is from the Gk. Word “Eukaristein”
 It is a thanksgiving and a sacrifice.
 Love and Mercy is the core value of the Eucharist
 Eucharist is the love of Christ and compassion to His people.
 The multiplication of loaves is about the Eucharist. The liturgy of the word
preceeds the liturgy of the Eucharist.
 Jesus needs the broken and the needy in order to share. So if you are self –
satisfied, in control of your life,if everything is going- well and you do not need
the help of another, then the Eucharist is not for you. But if you are broken
and empty, if you are utterly in need and realize you dependence on one
another, then the Eucharist is for you.
 The wonder of the Eucharist is that Jesus truly transforms bread and wine
into Himself, for then he can transform us through the Eucharist.
 Everytime you learn how to love which is rooted in the family and be
compassionate to others, there you will realize the true meaning of the
Eucharist.
