It is a simple fact …
Science Olympiad would not exist without
volunteers!
Science Olympiad has always benefitted from a
virtual army of dedicated, passionate and
creative educators, parents, administrators and
mentors who perform professional interaction
and generally make Science Olympiad work.

An introduction
Untuk menentukan waktu menanam padi
setiap tahunnya, petani di pulau Jawa sejak
abad ke-17 mempunyai kebiasaan
menggunakan gugus bintang tujuh (Pleiades,
Kartika). Pengamatannya dilakukan dengan
menggunakan selongsong bambu yang diisi
penuh dengan air, lalu diarahkan ke gugus
bintang tujuh di arah timur. Isi air yang
tumpah akan menandakan bahwa posisi
gugus bintang tujuh itu cukup tinggi untuk
menjadi petanda dimulainya musim menanam
padi dalam tahun tersebut.
Selongsong bambu yang dimaksud memiliki
panjang 100 cm, diameternya 10 cm. Ketika
selongsong bambu diarahkan ke gugus
bintang tujuh ternyata air yang tumpah
adalah sebanyak 0.785 liter.

astronomical topics with students;
5. Have fun with students;
6. Bring the students to the leaders after competition;
7. Help students prepare for performance;
8. Make a memorial farewell party.
