Peltier Temp Controller - Poster

This project designed and built a temperature controller for a neurobiology student lab to control the bath temperature of petri dishes. The controller uses a thermistor to sense the petri dish temperature and provides feedback to a microcontroller. The microcontroller uses a PID controller to output a signal that controls a Peltier device to heat or cool the petri dish based on the thermistor input. The initial version was completed for less than $100 and provides easy temperature control through a MATLAB interface without required training. Future improvements include enhancing heat distribution and making the interface computer-independent by embedding it in the device.
