Check hook and block for proper attachment and condition of safety latch, safety split pin. S S M T W T F
1. Check booms, hydraulic rams/ hoses (damage and leaking hoses).
Check safety and instructional signs. Report any that are illegible, deteriorated or missing.
Visually check that all sheave pins and retainers are secured in position.
2. Check hoist rope runs free and seated correctly on chafing bars
Check guardrails, steps are damage free and clear of obstructions etc.
Visually check hydraulic oil dipsticks
3. Hoist rope seated hoist rope drum correctly.
Check emergency stop(s) king pin and machinery deck are not engaged
Check Cab, Cabin Windows
4. Check emergency lowering is in neutral
Check the area around the crane structure free of obstructions and personnel
Operational & Safety Limit Checks S S M T W T F
Start motors according to operating instructions, oil cooler on (auto)
5. SLOWLY operate all powered components to their limits to check for proper limit switch
Operation and all functions are correct and SAFE
Check all drive motors for proper operation and REPORT any unusual noises or vibrations.
Check Emergency stop functions
6. Check crane configuration (Crane Mode / Rope Falls)
Check all fan belts for looseness
Check tires for damage
Check all controls for proper labeling operation and automatic brake setting at proper control

Check all brakes for proper stopping action.
8. Check correct functioning of the protection systems and alarms
9. Check load moment indicator for proper operation.
Check load rating chart at operators controls, it must be correct and visible.

13. Housekeeping-Crane and Cabin clean and tidy
14. Check outriggers for proper operation and outrigger pads.
15. CORRECT DEFICENCIES AS REQUIRED BASED ON THESE INSPECTIONS.
Note:
1. To be performed by qualified crane operator for each shif
2. All serious defects noted that affect safety, the crane must not be used
3. This report to be submitted to Chief Mechanic on daily basis for further action
