    Exercise Title Bandaging and Dressing Conducting Control Bleeding and Burns

    Take immediate action upon encountering an accident and or other medical

     Control Bleeding

     Apply appropriate measures in event of burns and scalds, including

    accidents caused by electric current
     Improvise bandages and use materials in the emergency kit
    At the end of the exercise, the trainees must be able to:
     Identify the type of bleeding prior to treatment
    Intended Learning  Identify the type of burn prior to treatment

    1. Apply direct pressure using a dressing.


    2. Check circulation below the injury before
    applying a bandage.
    3. While maintaining direct pressure, apply a
    dressing and bandage it in place.

    4. Call for help or send someone to call for help if


    you have not already done so

    5. Check circulation below the injury after applying


    the bandage. If circulation is reduced, loosen the
    bandage.
    6. Reassess the wound. If direct pressure does not
    control the bleeding, consider using a tourniquet if
    the wound is on a limb.
