Module 3 - Systems
Diesel Fuel
Learning Objective
At the end of this section of the module you will be able to describe the
operation of the fuel system and trace the fuel flow path.
Agenda
• The Fuel System
• Emergency Shutdown
• ‘Hot Box’ Lines & Connections
• Fuel System Schematic
• Fuel Metering & Delivery
Fuel Rail pressure - 5Bar min. Main Fuel Filter Rating - 15 microns.
‘V’ engines must have both fuel filters in operation for normal running due to high power / flow.
‘L’ engines require only one filter for normal running, Duplex operation.
Fuel inlet assembly includes fuel pre-filter and semi-rotary hand pump.

NOTES : Fuel pre-filter to be mounted below oil centrifuge with associated pipe-work.
Optional float switch used in conjunction with safety walled HP injection lines.
