Background: Most cases of trauma to the eye due to trauma often led to the loss of
visual function. Young adult groups - especially men - are the group most likely to
experience eye trauma. Oculi trauma can be divided into several categories based on
the mechanism of trauma, including sharp trauma, blunt trauma, chemical trauma,
thermal trauma, physical trauma, extra-ocular foreign body, and perforated trauma.
The key treatment on the cases of trauma to the eye is involves the reconstruction
measures aimed to prevent the worsening of prognosis as well as to extract corpus
alineum and medicinal treatment to restore the patient's quality of life.
Case report: A 5-year-old boy was brought by his mother arrived in the hospital with
the case of left eye perforated by a fishing hook a few hours prior to the arrival. The
affected eye generates pains and produces tears with blood. The pain increases when
the eyes are closed. The fishing hook perforated in the patient's left eye is cut off by
his father, with the half of the fishing hook still remain in the eye.
