Chapter 7 Project

The Earth, Minerals and Rocks


You will use the Gr. 7 Science text, BC Science 7. In chapter 7 you will learn about and present
on the following:
1. Structure of the Earth
• plates
• magnetic fields

2. Minerals and Mineral Resources


• crystals and their structure
• how to identify minerals

3. How Rocks are Formed


• igneous rocks
• sedimentary rocks
• metamorphic rocks

Individually or in groups of up to 3, you are to explain each topic and create a display to
demonstrate the important elements of that topic
The display must be comprehensive and clearly explain your chosen topic. Display choices you
may consider include:

• poster
• video
• diorama
• PowerPoint
• Prezi
• Your own idea
You will present your project to the class with a full explanation of all important information.
You must submit your script and notes for your presentation.
This project will be peer-evaluated.
This project is due Friday March 15
