The following abbreviations are used in this document:
The following ambient and environmental conditions shall be considered for the project.
2 GENERAL
This illumination level calculation for outdoor and indoor areas shall be performed to give the
required levels in accordance with codes and standards.
All lighting circuits for external lighting shall be supplied from Lighting and Socket Distribution
Panel - External, (LS-DB-001), voltage level 0.4/0.23 kV AC, 50 Hz . Supplied from MCC-020,
0.4/0.23 kV.
All lighting fixtures in the Electrical Substation shall be supplied from Lighting and Socket
Distribution Panel – Substation Building, (LS-DB-002) supplied from MCC-020, 0.4/0.2
supplied from MCC-20, 0.4/0.23 kV.
All lighting fixtures in the Control Room shall be supplied from Lighting and Socket Distribution
Panel – Control Building. (LS-DB-003) Supplied from MCC-20, 0.4/0.2 supplied from MCC-
020, 0.4/0.23 kV.
Pole mounted lighting fixtures shall be 250 W, mercury vapour, an suitable for safe area.
Lighting poles shall be 9 meters high, of round, tapered of aluminum.
The illumination level calculation has been performed using software DIALUX 4.9 which uses
Point-by-Point Method for calculation.
Report consists:
Where a is the length of the area considered, b is the width of the same area in meters.
(1) This result was obtained by considering quartz metal halide lamps because the use of mercury vapor
lamps for lighting purposes will be banned in the EU in 2015 and in the USA, ballasts and fixtures were
banned in 2008.
Lighting fixtures mounted under the shelter shall be 2x36 W, fluorescent type, suitable for
Zone 2
