External connections 37
Steam installation (only steam heated machines) A
• The steam line must be connected to the up-
37 B
per side of the main steam line in order to pre-
vent condensate running down to the tumble 2 3
dryer.
8
• The branch line must be installed with a slope 1
4
angle and must terminate higher than the inlet
connection. 9 5 6
• It is important that the condensate line is
installed lower than the outlet connection and
maintains a slope angle all the way to the 6802
main condensate line. 7

• Install flexible steam hoses between the

1. Steam valve (ships with the machine)
branch lines and the machine's steam battery 2. Shut-off valve, steam
(hoses not supplied). 3. Shut-off valve, condensate

Electrical installation

To be carried out by qualified personnel.

In most cases (e.g. when installing in a domestic communal washing

room) the electricity safety regulations do not require an earth fault
protection system to be installed. If you still require to connect the
machine using earth fault breakers, observe the following:
• Machines with frequency-controlled motors may be incompatible
with certain types of earth fault breakers, therefore a competent
licensed electrical installation company should be employed to
select a suitable type and to design the system.
• Only one machine to be connected per earth fault breaker.
• It is important that the earth conductor is connected correctly,
also with the right earth fault breaker.

The tumble dryer must be connected through it's own fuse group.

Cable dimensions
For calculation of connection cable dimensions refer to local regulations/
by-laws.

Evacuation system 1
Fresh-air
1 For the machine to work optimally with the shor-
test possible drying time, it is important for the air
input to the room to come from an aperture from
outside through which the same amount of air is
taken into the room as is blown out. To avoid a
draught in the room, the air inlet should prefera-
bly be placed behind the tumble dryer.
The free area* of the air inlet aperture must be
five times the area of the exhaust duct.
See table on next page.
The resistance in the grating/slats should not
exceed 10 Pa (0.1 mbar).
The air consumption is:
T4900CR: 2300 m3/h.
T41200CR: 2500 m3/h. 6810

2 Note that grating often blocks half of the

fresh air intake's total area. Don't forget to
take this into account when making calcula- 2
tions.
Pre-filter to the tumble dryer's air intake is
recommended.
* The free area is the area which the air can flow
through without resistance from grate/slatted
opening.

30 Installation

Exhaust duct
For the evacuation pipe or channel the following is valid:
• The exhaust duct must be smooth on the inside (low air resistance).
• The exhaust duct must lead to the outdoors.
• The exhaust duct must lead clear of the building as condensation may
cause frost damage to the building.
• The exhaust duct must be protected against rain and foreign objects.

3 • The exhaust duct must have gentle bends.

When several tumble dryers share an exhaust duct

4
• The exhaust duct diameter must increase after each tumble dryer.
The table below shows the exhaust duct diameter and the necessary
fresh-air inlet area.
• The evacuation pipe must be equipped with a back-flow damper after
each tumble dryer.
NOTE!
It is recommended that each tumble dryer is connected to a separate
exhaust duct.

The exhaust duct diameter must not be reduced.
