1. GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION:

Course No.: ECE 126 Credit: 3 units (3 hrs. lec/wk)


Course Title: Intro to Analog IC Prerequisite: EE 172
Design
Course Description: This course will introduce the students the basics of analog integrated
circuits design. The students will learn the following topics; MOS transistors,
small signal and two port networks, single stage amplifiers, current sources and
current mirrors, frequency analysis and response of single stage amplifiers,
differential amplifiers, differential pairs with active load, multi-stage amplifiers,
Miller OTA, feedback circuits, compensation, constant gm current references
and bandgap voltage references.

2. AIMS, OBJECTIVES, and GRADUATE ATTRIBUTES

2.1 Course aims:


The aims of the course are to:
1. Develop an understanding on the intricacies of analog integrated circuits design
through theories and supplemental laboratory activities
2. Provides an introductory knowledge of the various architectures of basic analog
circuits which are vital for the understanding of the more complicated analog and
digital circuits.

The student/program outcomes from a to m set the minimum requirements. HEI/LUC/SUC


may add additional outcomes when needed, and to provide competencies to support national,
regional, and local development plans.
