    Method Statement of Installing I-Beam Works

    Location

    Lift Jejantas Shah Alam

    Objective

    To install I-Beam on reinforcement concrete wall at the top area of the shaft.

    Preparatory by contractor before installing works

    1. Submit the proposed method statement installation and rectification work to


    authority for approval.
    2. Prepare and inspect all tools and equipment required for installing works in working
    order.
    3. Wear appropriately and follow personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
    from DOSH.

    Installation Works

    1. Fix all four (4) angle irons that have the thickness of 5 mm at the I-Beam using 16
    mm bolt and nut before proceeding to lift it.
    2. Erect scaffolding / staging inside lift shaft floor by floor and lift I-Beam accordingly.
    3. Before marking, temporary support should be placed to support I-Beam. Mark all
    angle iron holes that need to be installed on the reinforce concrete wall.
    4. Drill the marked holes using appropriate equipment. Dust off any debris in the holes
    and around them.
    5. Plug M16 wall plug to every hole using hammer.
    6. Fix the I-Beam according to the wall plug and tighten them with bolt and nut.
    Temporary support should be taken away if the I-Beam is in place and sturdy.
