LOAD BREAK SWITCH
STEP 1 :
Load break switch is packed in wooden crates , as in condition of LBS in
Off condition and Earth Switch in ON Condition. Before LBS is fixed to the panel ,
first earth switch has to be opened .

STEP 2 :
To Operate Load Break Switch, Insert and rotate the operating Handle as shown in the figure.

STEP 3 :
To CHARGE Switch Operate the Handle to the Counter‐Clockwise Direction as shown in the
figure. The Operating Handle can be removed at charged condition only.

Do’s
* Rotate operating handle in clockwise direction for switching ON LBS.
* Rotating operating handle in anti‐clockwise direction for “CHARGING” LBS.
LBS can be tripped only if LBS in charged condition.
* Insert operating handle earth in earth rod for
making earth switch ON or OFF.

Do not’s
* Do not remove operating handle from the switch until LBS is in charged
condition (i.e) LBS should be in both “ON” and in “CHARGED” condition.
* Do not operate main switch when earth switch is on “ON” condition.
To defeat , mechanical interlock is provided.

STEP 4 :

TRIPPING :
To Trip the Load Break Switch, Push the Tripping Lever as shown in the figure (Using Coil
also, LBS can be tripped).

STEP 5 :
EARTH ON / OFF :
To Operate Earth Switch, Insert Earth Handle into the Slot as shown in the figure.
