8th Form Review 3

Big Ben refers to both the famous clock in London and one of its bells that weighs 13.5 tons. In 1859, the bell was first heard striking the hour throughout the world. Since then, it has been striking the hour on the radio around the world. But in winter 1987, it was so cold that for the first time, part of the clock froze and Big Ben was silent for a while.
