KetaSpire & AvaSpire ™ ™

more of what you’re looking for

With the introduction of KetaSpire™ PEEK (polyetheretherketone), Solvay Advanced Polymers gives you
more of what you’re looking for. Considered one of the highest performing, fully thermoplastic semi-crystalline
polymers available today, it is an integral part of the SolvaSpire™ ultra polymers family.

KetaSpire PEEK is produced to the highest industry standards and is characterized by a distinct combination
of properties, which include –

• Excellent chemical resistance to organics, acids and bases

• Exceptional retention of mechanical properties up to 300°C
• Best-in-class fatigue resistance
• Excellent wear resistance
• Ease of melt processing
• High purity

More Ways to Succeed

KetaSpire PEEK has a diverse and growing product slate. The introductory product line has eight general
purpose and high-strength grades, which include high and low melt flow formulations of powders, unrein-
forced resins, and resins reinforced with glass and carbon fibers.

Solvay plans to expand the KetaSpire PEEK product line to include fine powders and wear resistant grades.
Other formulations are also under development.

More Customized Options

AvaSpire™ modified PEEK is a family of PEEK-based products that are tailored to meet specific application
requirements. The products capitalize on KetaSpire PEEK’s distinctive performance attributes, with some
grades offering more attractive economics. The introductory product line consists of two unreinforced grades
and three glass fiber-reinforced grades.

More Flexibility with Melt Processing

KetaSpire PEEK and AvaSpire modified PEEK are easily processed using standard thermoplastic melt
processing techniques. Molding grades are supplied in pellet form and can be injection molded and extruded
into finished parts. A detailed processing guide is available at www.solvayadvancedpolymers.com.
