About US Dream Joyo Pedal

+Maybe The Build Quality isn’t 100% up to the level of the American made counter parts but the sound
sure is. Ive a?bed several different joyo moeer pedals with their progenitors the riot sweet honey ts9
and ocd and the sound is pretty much the same. And for 35% I can wear out 4-6 of them before
spending what iw oul have spent on just one of the boutique pedals. For most people it just makes a lot
more sense.

And as Far as their durability goes, ive had to warranty two mxr pedals in the one year that ive owned
my joyo sweet baby

+I actually own the pedal and I must say you did a perfect job capturing the sound and feel of it! the
great thing of this pedal is that through a clean channel of a tube amp sounds almost like the gain
channel of it.(just a little bit thinner compared to the actual channel) for the money, is the best pedal
that I know of. cheers!

I haven't done it, but there are other comparison videos on the web - they are very close. I have
the US Dream. I wanted the Hot Plexi for a long time, but after watching his other video of it, it
seems like just a lower gain version of this. I will say that the US Dream doesn't add a lot of low
end, but it does a good compressed lead tone. Kind of like a Crunch Box, but smoother.

I bought mine after watching this video! I posted a sound test on my channel this weekend. Since
I usually go for a brighter clean tone, I never get to set the tone past 10 o clock on mine. It can
get awfully shrill. Highs tamed, I like how it can get slighly fuzzy, specially with the guitar tone
rolled down, but it doesn't lose "crunch".
+Excellent comparative. I have a weird problem with the US Dream when I combine it in my switcher
looper chain with other pedals, since sometimes I use another pedal before or after to achieve more
colors. The issue is the US Dream is the only one of my stompboxes that when combined with
another pedal it does sound altered, resulting in a notorious loss of body and frequency as being
electronically out of phase, it sounds nasal and lifeless. I did a test placing the US Dream before a
guitar preamp that has phase change button, and effectively reversing the polarity completely solves
the problem and the sound is full and present when combined. I do not know if I got a defective unit
or that is part of the Joyo design, but when using the Suhr Riot that does not happen. Any report or
experience about?

Great and useful review. The Joyo Us Dream really roars !!! Take a look at our YouTube
Channel: you can hear this amazing purple pedal played live on "Nobody's Wife" and "Don't
Bother" (both crunch and lead sound). The Stratocaster is equipped with a Seymour Duncan
HotRails (at the bridge) and it's plugged into a TwinReverb.

sound I want to cover some of there music but I want the right sound PLEASE HELP!! Me out!!

definitely Crunch Distortion
I can agree with this sentiment. One of the MXR warranties I had to do was because an
SMD part failed, and even my normal go to guy couldn't fix it. He had to send it back to
MXR (and they sent me a new one without charging me a dime, which was awesome). I'm
afraid of this problem with my Mooers.

One more thing on this, then I'll drop it. People who are to into having "the best" gear seem
to forget that most of your tone comes from your fingers, pick attack and touch. I play a
Squier Vintage Modified Tele, I have two Joyo's and three Mooers, and either play a Mesa
DC-5 or a '68 Fender Bassman. I get compliments on my tone at pretty much every show.
Compliments from older guitar players who have been around a while, and from younger
players still trying to find their own sound. And honestly, I'm not planning on replacing any
of my pedals any time soon. The first one to get replaced will probably be the MXR Dyna
Comp (will replace with an Wampler Ego Comp). The pickups in the Tele will likely stay, too,
at least for a while (they are Duncan Designeds). The first thing I want to replace is my amp
situation. Partially because neither amp actually belongs to me (they belong to my g/f), but
also because I'm just not 100% happy with either of them. The "cheap chinese" junk pedals
and guitar that I have wont be going anywhere soon, and I'll keep getting great sounds out
of them.

This has to be one of the smoothest, coolest guitar tones I've ever heard. Wish we could get some
setup info though; hard to tell how much of it is due to the pedal.

I've played for 45+ years and this is the best video demo of this pedal I've seen. You put so
much feeling in your playing. You are an awesome player!!!

 Joyo US Dream Review!

01-05-2015, 10:28 AM
Now we’ll take a look at the US Dream distortion pedal by Joyo. Similar in design and build as the Suhr Riot
Distortion, we’ll see how it really stacks up against it’s $200 rival.
Features
The US Dream is a straight up high-gain distortion pedal, featuring a Volume, Tone and Level. Designed and
modelled after the Suhr Riot, it captures the look and feel quite convincingly. However, the build materials are
certainly not up to the quality of the Suhr. The pedal can be powered off of 9V or batteries for your
preference.
Sound
Joyo proves once again of their ability to capture the Riot’s sound, however there are some slight differences.
After doing a head to head sound test, the Suhr tends to have a smoother BASS response, a punchier sound
throughout. The US Dream achieves sounds from crunch distortion to full on high-gain tone, with a ton of
sustain.
The US Dream does a commendable job in capture the overall gain structure and tone, however does less
impressive with cutting through the mix. If you were blind folded and tested both back to back you would
most likely not hear a difference, but there is. It’s a very subtle difference in definition and sound quality.
If you’re after a high-gain guitar pedal for your rock band, this may be the pedal for you as it ultimately
achieves the Suhr Riot sound for less than half the price.

I've got one for home use, great pedal but hasn't made the pedalboard yet. I think I paid somewhere around
$35 for mine which was a no brainer!

For the price, the pedal is a winner absolutely.
