EC210: MINI PROJECT

CREDITS = 2 (L=0, T=0, P=2)

Course Objectives:
 To undertake & execute a Mini Project through a group of students.
 To understand the ‘Product Development Cycle’ through Mini Project.
 To plan for various activities of the project and distribute the work amongst team
members.
 To inculcate electronic hardware implementation skills by –
a. Learning PCB artwork design using an appropriate EDA tool.
b. Imbibing good soldering and effective trouble-shooting practices.
c. Following correct grounding and shielding practices.
d. Knowing the significance of aesthetics & ergonomics while designing electronic
product.
 To develop student’s abilities to transmit technical information clearly and test the
Same by delivery of Seminar based on the Mini Project.
 To understand the importance of document design by compiling Technical Report on
The Mini Project work carried out.

Course Contents:
Guidelines:

1. Students should select a problem which addresses some basic real life applications.
2. The electronic mini Project for selected problem should have at least 20 to 25 Components.
3. Students should understand testing of various components.
4. Soldering of components should be carried out by students.
5. Students should develop a necessary Layout and PCB for the circuit.
6. Students should see that final circuit submitted by them is in working condition.
7. 15-20 pages report to be submitted by students.
8. Group of maximum three students can be permitted to work on a single mini project.
9. The mini project must have hardware part. The software part is optional.
10. Demonstration with poster/seminar presentation of all mini projects developed by the
students at the end of semester.
Course Outcomes (COs):
After successfully completing this course, the student shall be able to:
1. Understand, plan and execute a Mini Project with team.
2. Implement electronic hardware by learning PCB artwork design, soldering techniques,
troubleshooting etc.
3. Prepare Project Software by efficient algorithm Mini project.
4. Apply latest trends and technology in selected project.
5. Prepare a technical report based on the Mini project.
6. Deliver technical seminar based on the Mini Project work carried out.
