Data Domain Disk Replacement:

Access the Data Domain Enterprise Manager , default username:sysadmin, default


password: Serial Number

1- Identify the failed disk

#disk show raid-info

Check the disk with LED alert it should match the one from output command above

2- If the status of the disk is still not "failed", we need to fail it

#disk fail disk-id //disk ID includes the enclosure


number ex. 3.2 enc 3 disk 2

#disk show raid-info


#disk beacon Enc.Disk ID to led it to identify it

3- Replace the disk using screw driver

4- Unfail the new replaced disk

#disk unfail disk-id

#disk show raid-info

5- Send update to autosupport

#autosupport send

Generate support from GUI and save it to flash, give to shehab to upload it to
case.

1.) Enter the following command in the command line of the Data Domain system:
SYSTEM> support upload bundle

2.) The command will ask you for a login and password. Use the same login
credentials you use to access the Data Domain support web site.

3.) After entering the command you will see the following sequence of response on
the command line:

Authenticating username and password�


Compressing files for upload�
Connecting to Data Domain support�
Sending file� 100%
File successfully uploaded.
