All the range of busducts are well designed and thoroughly Air Insulated Segregated Phase Busduct
tested in line with IEC 61439-6. Both IPD & C&S Electric are (125~2000A) (3.3kV ~ 33kV)
accredited to ISO 9001:2008. (upto 1.0kV) (upto 5000A)
Busduct is a system of distributing electric power using copper or aluminium busbars with suitable
enclosures to prevent the busducts from getting damaged from foreign bodies.
Busbars are now becoming irreplaceable simply because of the convenience and safety factor. While
using traditional cables, the cost of cabling and trunking and the time taken for installation is much
higher than busbars.
Installing busbars over conventional cabling has a range of advantages some of which are mentioned below:
Apart from these advantages, there are a variety of other benefits that busbars have over cables. With the network and distribution requirement grow-
ing day by day, traditional cables will soon be history and busbars will continue to gain importance.
I Features:
Finishing is superior, hence adds to aesthetics of building. Improper laying of the cables may spoils the aesthetics

High Short circuit strength & high fire protection. Low Short circuit strength & low fire protection.
VI Termination :
Direct termination through busbars. The method for cable termination is very cumbersome.
Termination is simple and easy. Additional supports are required to hold the cables inside the
panel.

When sizing busbars the designer only needs to make calcu- It is necessary to protect each cable individually with a fuse and
lations on a single riser which reduces design time and costs. when laying the cables in bundles it is necessary to anchor them
properly so that they can withstand the electrodynamic forces
generated in the event of a short circuit. So, the designers have
to spend more time on calculations.
No extra holes/cutouts required. Holes to be made in the gland plate for fixing cable glands.
No cable tray required, supported on ceilings / walls. Cable tray or the digging of the trench is required to lay the
cables.
No special tools are required. Special tool are required for crimping the cable lugs.

Principally free from halogen. PVC cables are not free from halogen. Halogen-free cables are
very expensive.

PLUG IN BOX
ISOBAR range covers Isolated Phase Busduct, Segregated Phase Busducts and Non-Segregated Phase Busducts.
Today, C&S have an enviable track record of having associated with 6 units of 800 MW, 45 units of 660 MW, 33 units of 500 MW, 100 units of 250
MW, 50 units of 150 MW Thermal Power Stations, Hydro Power Plants and Nuclear Power Plants, besides many Captive/Private Power Projects of
capacity less than 100 MW.
ISOBAR Busduct have been successfully type tested for various type tests Viz Short circuit tests, temperature rise tests, d ielectric Voltage withstand test ,
earthquake resistant tests, degree of protections tests at renowned laboratories at KEMA Netherlands, Czech Republic, EDF-France
CPRI- Bangalore/ Bhopal , IIT-Roorkee etc.
C&S offers a wide range of natural air cooled Isolated Phase Busducts
from 11 to 38 kV up to 30000 A with Short Circuit Current withstand
capacity reaching test values even up to 312 kA RMS for 1 sec. and 844
kA peak. These IPB’s have applications in all type of generating stations
between 60 MW to 1000 MW.
SALIENT FEATURE
=Excellent shielding under short circuit conditions, near elimination of forces.
=Eliminates phase-to-phase faults.
=Reduces proximity effect between the main current carrying conductors of the
adjacent phase to almost zero due to magnetic shielding, on the one hand,
and large center spacing, on the other.
=It provides complete protection for operating personnel from high touch or step
voltages across the enclosure and the metallic structure.
=Best suitable for adverse climatic and Highly polluted atmospheric conditions.
=The bus system is easy to manufacture, bend, handle and install.
CONFORMITY TO STANDARDS
Isolated Phase Busducts are designed, manufactured and tested as per the International Standards BIS 8084, ANSI/ IEEE C37.23-2003, IEC 62271
etc.
CONDUCTORS
The Bus conductor in tubular form is manufactured from aluminum alloy plates/ sheets by rolling Into standard cylinders and successive
standard cylinders are welded together to form shipping lengths for higher current ratings. Aluminum alloy extruded tubes are also used as bus
conductor for lower current ratings up to appx. 6000 A. To facilitate and improve the heat dissipating capacity and to reduce temperature rise
on the bus bars, matt black paint is always applied on its external surface.
ADVANTAGES
=Impossible to have Phase to phase fault.
=Excellent shielding to the busbars under short circuit conditions and near elimination of forces.
=Voltage rise in enclosure is very low due to its resistive origin and hence free access to the personnel.
=Provides excellent degree of protection- IP65.
=Undesirable current loops are avoided beyond a regular pattern, due to electrical isolation form structures and hence heating in
the supporting beams is eliminated.
C&S offers a wide range of Segregated Phase Busducts for medium voltage applications from 3.3 kV
to 33 kV up to 5000 A with short circuit capacity of 50 kA for 3 sec.
Segregated Phase Busducts are widely used in power generating stations and industrial or distribution
plants for lower capacity generator connections, inter-connections between switchgear and transformers.
SALIENT FEATURES
=Excellent shielding under short circuit condition.
=Minimizes phase to phase faults.
=Designed for degree of protection of IP-55 for outdoor and IP-54 for indoor Busducts.
CONSTRUCTION
Segregated Phase Busducts are designed, manufactured and tested as per the National / International Standards BIS 8084, ANSI/IEEE C37.23,
IEC 62271 etc.
C&S offers a wide range of Non-Segregated Phase Busducts for Low Voltage applications from 415 V to 1.1 kV up to 6500 A with a short
circuit capacity 80 kA for 1 sec.
Non-Segregated Phase Busducts are commonly used in industrial utilities, power plants for interconnection between switchgear and
transformers and also for lower capacity of generator
(viz DG sets).
SALIENT FEATURES
=Reduced proximity effect by virtue of using flat Busbars.
=Designed for degree of protection of IP555 for outdoor and IP54 for indoor Busducts.
CONSTRUCTION
Non-Segregated Phase Busducts are designed, manufactured and tested as per IEC-61439/ BIS-8623.
