Jaimini Astrology Sthira Dasha With A Case Study PDF
Scholars of earlier times used to make Sthira Dasha applicable only to a few horoscopes due to:
1. Brahma should be placed only in the visible half of the horoscope
2. It should tenant only an odd rashi.
Later, many scholars like Dr. B.V. stated that if the above conditions were adhered to, then many
horoscopes would be without Brahma and Sthira dasha, which is a general dasha, would become a
conditional dasha and would not be applicable to all the horoscopes.
Dr. K.N. Rao states in the foreword “Why Sthira Dasha” in the book “Predicting through
Jaimini’s Sthira Dasha” by Ms. Akhila Kumar, that a traditional Punjabi astrologer did solve the
above problem through the following method:
1. Find out the strongest house between the lagna and 7th house.
2. Find out the strongest of the lords of the 6th, 8th and 12th houses from the strongest of the
houses between the lagna and the 7th houses.
3. Among the seven planets exclude Saturn for the position of Brahma.
4. Rahu and Ketu should never be considered as they have no place in the scheme of the
calculation of graha and rasi bala scheme.
Dr. Rao states that the above method has been used for over 2 decades by successive batches of
astrology students with great success.

CALCULATION OF BRAHMA, MAHESHWARA AND RUDRA
2.STHIRA BALA Each rashi gets an unit of 10 for a planet placed in it. 10
If there is no planet then it will not get any unit. As For every planet
per the method shown by KN Rao Rahu and Ketu are
not counted as planets for this purpose. Hence they do
not get any units.

CALCULATION OF BRAHMA, MAHESHWARA AND RUDRA
STHIR DASHA
Robert A. Koch, in “Jaimini’s Sthira Dasa Fundamentals, Concepts, &Practical Illustrations”, states :Among
the three primal Deities mentioned in Vedic shastras, Vishnu, Brahma, and Mahesvara (Shiva), Brahma is
thecreator, being empowered by Sri Vishnu with Srishti-shakti, the power of generating universes and life
forms from his supreme intelligence. Brahma plays a pivotal role within the expansive pantheon of Devatas,
in that due tothe function of creation over which he presides, the Raja-guna, or material mode of passion is
set forth compelling all living beings to act in certain ways according to their desires. Raja-guna binds the
living being to physical formsand repetitive incarnations due to the pursuit of this desire. Thus within
thecontext of Jyotish, the Brahma planet indicates the cause of creation of theliving being and what types of
samskaras follow him into this life and thus for which he is accountable. Whatever planet qualifies to be
Brahma in thehoroscope will show where the strongest desire of the living being may be found and in which
areas of his incarnation this desire may be sought and fulfilled. The Sthira dasa thus starts from the sign of
the Brahma graha.”

CALCULATION OF BRAHMA, MAHESHWARA AND RUDRA
Now find out the stronger between the 6th, 7th and 8th from Lagna (by using the graham bala):
In this chart Moon becomes B rahma. Moon is placed in Karka, Hence the dasha starts with Karka.
After all Brahma is the creator, the counselor. A planet that has significations for creativity in your chart, you
will be more creative if it is Brahma. If the planet represent signification for money, then if it is Brahma,
money comes to you out of nowhere. if the planet rules things like sickness, debts, enemies etc. then if it is
Brahma, these malevolent happenings to you would also spring up out of nowhere
Maheswara is the liberator. If a planet has bondage significations in your chart, it would liberate you. If you
have debts which is a kind of obligation (a financial one), this planet will liberate you. It will liberate you out
of discrimination, out of anything bad. If a planet denotes expansionism, it will make the expansionism even
greater. Maheswara will liberate you right up to the top of the sky and you will not fall back down to Earth
with a bang.

JAIMINI ASTROLOGY - STHIRA DASHA WITH A CASE STUDY
CALCULATION OF BRAHMA, MAHESHWARA AND RUDRA
Finding Rudra:
The stronger between the 8th and the 2nd lord from the Ascendant becomesRudra. However, some say that if
the weaker lord of the 2nd or 8th is aspected by many malefics, then it can become Rudra. The former is
called PraniRudra – the Rudra with strength - while the latter is called Aprani Rudra, or the one without
strength. Again, for the purposes of simplicity, especially where studies in longevity are concerned, we shall
take only the stronger lord of the 2nd and 8th (Prani Rudra) as the Rudra graha. Rudra is the destroyer. A
planet which is already not beneficial for the chart (in terms of functional beneficience) will be worse if it is
Rudra.
- The stronger of the lords of 2nd and 8th from Lagna houses becomes Rudra
(The strength is taken from graham bala)
Mercury is the stronger lord and is placed in Karka and Mercury becomes Rudra.
